About 140 in a 2010 Ferrari California(top was down)Felt like it had a LOT more.

Forgot to mention that was in third gear.I didn't think i would like the paddle shifters but i was wrong. They're fantastic!

I have done right at 140 in my 71 Rally Nova I built. Was way to scary at that speed with front end lift and had to chase the steering to keep it straight. Also have done the same in my '91 Grand Prix 3.4. Man was it stuck to the road !! Felt great at that speed. The faster you went with it the more stable it was. It has the body kit on it just like the Richard Petty Edition does. Difference like day and night in those two cars at speed. Was fun but i'm not that brave anymore !! :(

136mph in a stock car at the Petty Experience at Disney World.

About 130 in my 83 Z28 - in 3rd gear.

125 in my GLH turbo teaching a 5.0 about boost. :(

About 98 in my bent-up, thrashed to heck - '68 Mustang. I actually thought i was gonna take-off! The Steering wheel got REALLY light.

115 in my '87 MR2.

95mph on my '07 H-D Electra-Glide. MAN was that thing slow!

Back in the mid to late 70s in my 71 firebird. The speedo was readin 150, but I had over sized tires on the back so I know it was doin more than that. It drove like I was doin 60. The peddle wasn't even floored. That was a great car.

I had the speedo of a 1987 Fiero Gt pegged plus a little more, the needle stopped just a little past 160mph. I was driving on Hwy 101 on the Oregon/California coast where I grew up. It took us just over 9 minutes to drive from Brookings, Oregon to Cresent City, California, about 30 miles total. That was one of the funnest drives I ever had.

I did that at the same place back in 2001 Feb. during speedweeks. I had flag stand seats at the 500. Had a foot long lens that could take decent shots of the back stretch. Even got a couple of pics from the crash where e was killed from where I was sitting at.

When I was in high school, back in the mid 60s, a friend of mine had a '56 Studebaker Golden Hawk. The car was two-toned black and white (looked for all the world like the Batmobile), with a Packard V8 and a three speed transmission. Roger had reversed the rear axle on the springs so it was quite a bit higher than stock, and he ran huge Firestone Indy tires on the back--the car really made a statement, you know? Anyway, one day we were going to the beach, and we were on the Pacific Coast Highway between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach, and Roger decided to see what it'd do...within a terrifyingly short time the speedometer read 120, and was pegged. Now with those tires on the back who knows how fast we were really going, but with no seat belts and vinyl upholstery both of us were bouncing and flying around, the windows were open for maximum chaos, and it seemed like we were airborne. Luckily no CHP appeared, or we'd both still be sitting in an Orange County jail. Talk about stupid...

im guessing at least 100 on my blazer on the open road and about 80 with traffic.

fastest on a sidestreet 110 with my 92 cougar

i got pinged by the woodland fairy doing 17mph on a bike trail

think i topped out at 200

i was on the german autbahn in my 1990 opel E kadett with the 1.4 engine and that was fast as it would go

scared the ###### out of me

at about 170 id lock the doors, just to be sure they wouldnt fall off

i remember seeing a tiny little stip in my rear view mirror

so i check my speedo

topped out at 200

glance back in my rear view mirror and the little stip now is a full size 5 series mercedes about 2 inches off my rear bumper

needles to say i got my slow 200 KMH but back into the slow lane :)

Hmm, I wasn't a speed demon much, worst ticket was 80 in a 55, I took my old 240 up to about 125 and was worried about the carbon fiber hood popping up since it was fluttering at that speed. My claim to fame was a nice careless and wreckless ticket from doing donuts...just so happens I have a video of that incident right here..lol

I never went above 80 on my motorcycle, I was too scared..I mean literally 2 full days of riding under my belt and I hit the highway, scared to death about messing up...so yeah I never tested the high speed capabilities of my Buell Lightning when I had it.

Somewhere about 140 - 150 on a tricked out Yahama V-Max, about the same on a Yahama FJ1200. The V-Max was more of a rush though, no fairings to keep the wind off ya.

Had a 73' Duster 340, the speedo never worked in it but it would pull 7800 rpm's in high gear with 391 gears, can't remember how tall the rear tires were to figure the speed. Ran Mickey Thompson's on it I think around 25 - 26 inches tall, so I would guess around 140 or so ???

But the most hair raising fast ride I have ever taken was about 125 in a friends boat, not the fastest by far but for sure my least fav., would never do that again, another ride I would never take again was in the same guys twin turbo porsche, I have no idea how fast we went in it but it was by far the fastest street car I have ever set my butt in.

142 (certified) in a '74 Plymouth Gran Fury 440 Magnum. The Corvette I was chasing was not going quite as fast. :D He could not believe I caught him.

I have to say that Gran Fury, my Nova 9c1 and a '78 Fury II (could never get the Fury IIs over 130) were the best police cars I ever had the privilege of piloting. (I missed out on the Camaro police Z's; dangit.)

You guys that have run that fast on 2 wheels; well, that's just nuts! Way too many variables even with four wheels on the ground. Glad you made it to the brink and back.

Passenger wise I have been in a hoped up in a 71 Nova at 150mph, a 1992 trick Mazda RX7 at 160. The fastest I've ever had control over was my 1992 Honda Prelude (non American smog, direct import) I had it up to 140+ in fourth gear and it was a 5 speed. I way more but I ran out of road. It was stolen 2 weeks later and I got it back but never opened it up and sold it. Don't you love the way the car goes quite and feels like its on a pillow or cloud after about 120?

Your right on the bikes, was hitting right at 140 on the V-Max one night in the fast lane on I-40, the handle bars shuttered one time, very little and I went from the middle of the fast lane to the middle on the slow lane,,,if it had went the other way it would have been all she wrote !!! After that I never rode any bike over about 80. All this was around 20 years ago, I stay right around the posted speed limits now, guess I have got older and maybe a bit smarter, maybe :D

In my rear engined bracket dragster best was 7.78 @ 172. On the street only about 110 in my 73 vette when I was young and stupid.

I use to have a 75 Pontiac Trans Am-400cid .030 over-472 lift 512 duration cam-all balanced-automatic...160mph speedo. I got clocked on radar <_< by a state trooper at 137 in a 55 zone before. The speeding fine was painful. The car still had lots of gas pedal left.... :)

my right foot has ALWAYS been bigger than my left!! the 1st ticket i got was 85 in a 35!! in my dad's DEMO, 1967 Fairlane GTA...needless to say....

so, how fast...well, i've had my SV to an indicated 140...had a Honda Interceptor 750 up to 149[backed off!!] over the years, many, many, 100mph+ 'runs'...

Driving a Freightliner FLD with a fully loaded stepdeck flatbed, the nice officer told me he clocked me at 111...

In my P-71 I've done 105.

Scared my passengers a little...:)

I've been 8.41 @ 163 in my street driven Camaro at the track. I usually drive pretty slow on the street. I can't afford a ticket.
