FordRodnKustom Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Hey all. I've been on a vintage box art build kick lately, here's my latest effort. Kind of how I wanted them to look when I glue smeared them together as a kid in '63. I had a lot of fun fitting these together!
Stang67 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Excellent Ron! I love those old kits. I like it when you can go back and redo!
kingiguana Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Two thumbs up for each car,.....which is four thumbs up. I only have two, so I'll give You one of these, since they are both cool cars and the box art to go with them is great !
Sixties Sam Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Very nice 36's! I built a couple of those original kits "back in the day". They weren't as nice as yours, though! Good work! It's interesting that the box art shows the custom coupe with a stock, unchopped top, but IIRC, the kit came with only the chopped coupe top, and a stock height roadster windshield and uptop. Do the newer releases have the chopped top? I would like to get one if they do. Sam
70elcamino Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Looks great, why is it all the ones we want to redo, cost so much ? Russell
RodBurNeR Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Cool as cool is! You know I love them both, can't go wrong with Fords or vintage box art!
AC Norton Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 that 36 green gasser is simply a knockout...the custom as well. box art bingo at its very best,,,,terrific piece, ron.....best, the ace.....
unclescott58 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Love them both! Still the best looking Ford from the 1930's in my opinion. In November the Model Car Club of Minnesota is having '36 Ford judging contest. If you were up here, you might have a good chance winning with those two. Scott
smellyfatdude Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) The only thing sweeter than a tribute build (scale replica of an actual car), is a box art build. Especially two that are that nice! Edited August 28, 2014 by smellyfatdude
Maxicoop Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Wow !!! now you're bringing back memories !!!!!! I remember doing these as a kid !!!!! but mine were more a GLUE color !!!!!! two super nice builds and I'm glad you put a picture of the box in too ....
rmvw guy Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Beautiful, Just like the box art! Makes me wonder why I never did that. Very COOL!
GasPunkAlley Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) I like the lilac custom car. The artwork was a clean design. Edited September 1, 2014 by GasPunkAlley
FordRodnKustom Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Thanks all! I appreciate your good words. Just might motivate me to do this pair. I've been gathering all the parts and supplies for them for some time.
DynoMight Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Real cool. Can't wait to see how those come out! Even better than than last!
