pharr7226 Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Thanks Dan and Romell. I appreciate the kind words.
pharr7226 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 I had the first productive time on bench in months over the weekend. I had to repair the fender wells, which were cracked when I dropped the part. I also fixed some problems with the frame. I got some clear on it a few weeks ago and finally came up with a design I like for the door panels. The clear is Crystal Clear, which is an acrylic. I used an acrylic to avoid some of the well documented problems with Kustom Kolors color coats. Hopefully, I can keep it up and get this thing going again.
Foxer Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 The interior panels are gorgeous! .. actually, all of it is!
Cesar Bossolani Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Awesome job Rick!!! Love color combo brother!!! amazing shine!! Cesar Bossolani
Zoom Zoom Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Looks great. I can vouch for the perfect paint job on this GTO, seeing it in person is amazing. I would never expect the Krylon to look so perfect I'll be trying it out soon.
pharr7226 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) Foxer, thanks for the comment on the panels. I went through a few designs before I came up with something that I like. Cesar, thanks bro. Any progress on the Magnum or the Mustang? Bob, I really appreciate the compliment from a paint master. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with Crystal Clear. It dries hard and polishes well. Drgron63, thanks. Hopefully, I'll have some progress to post next week. Edited March 3, 2011 by pharr7226
ajulia Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Hello there friend! Im very excited seeing this back on the bench and the outcome is coming along beautifully!! Gotta agree with the gang top notch build-up so far the interior tub looks like it will compliment the pro touring style!! Keep on wit the keepin on fella and look forward the finish build!! P.S the engine looks awesome too!! matter of fact the whole enchilada!!!lol
Erik Smith Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I love simple look of the 64 GTOs. Your paint looks great - color choices and application. Should be a nice looking car!
pharr7226 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Ajulia, thanks. I appreciate the encouragement. Mark, my choice of kits was pure ignorance and naivete. Almost every modification/scratch build that I made on this thing is a first for me. I only have one prior build under my belt that I completed as an adult. My teenage builds were all glue bombs and I stopped building when I was 15 or 16. Believe me, I've felt like I bit off more than I could chew on many occasions with this build. Thanks for feeling my pain. Coyotehybrids, thanks for the compliment.
seeker589 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I never would have thought to scratch-build seats! outstanding! They look great. They will look a bit smaller with some clean-up. The paint is sweet!
pharr7226 Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Thanks seeker589. I'm glad you like the the seats. Edited March 5, 2011 by pharr7226
