MonoPed
Finally finished the Scarab! It's the old Monogram SSP issue with a few mods and the Ricambi detail set. I made a new roll bar and exhaust pipes from aluminum tube, made a wider pair of rear wheels from the slot car wheel inserts and some parts box rims. I also cut open the rear f the body and replaced the kit screen with one made from scrap PE mesh and .010" plastic sheet. Color is PPG Ford Viking Blue and Tamiya TS-26 Pure White. MonoPed
Brian, Another perfectly photographed beauty. What do you use for gluing your clear parts? Formula 560 canopy glue from Pacer. Slow setting white glue, cleans up with water. Great stuff!
MonoPed
I was a little rushed this morning, so here are the rest of the pics I shot:
Michael Madlinger
Terrific job. You have taken what was basically a slot car body to the next level. Awesome. Edited June 6, 2010 by Michael Madlinger

sjordan2
Great job all around, and it's especially nice to see a realistic finish of the era that isn't overly glossy.

lordairgtar
Proof positive that you do not need a 300 piece kit to make a nice model. Very well done. Now I want to take the kit I have and build it along with the Chaparral from Monogram.
MonoPed
Thanks guys!! ...Now I want to take the kit I have and build it along with the Chaparral from Monogram. I have the Chap kit hiding in the pile too... I'm really starting to dig these simple slot/curbside builds!
