Come on over and check-out my latest ride.

The dash is in good shape, the seat is worn and sagging. Door panels are removed and the floorboards show much neglect.

The right door came from a green car, it has been stripped. I put temporary signal lights on the front to keep it legal.

The rear quarter also has been stripped and shows a bit of body damage. The rockers show lots of rust through.

The trunk pan is rusting through, but the left quarter is ready for some block sanding after I filled the trim holes.

This side is in better shape than the other, but still has some rusty rocker panels. A little Por 15 will keep the drip rails solid for years to come.

Overall a solid car for it's age, nothing some welding skills can't fix. Next winter it goes back in the shop to replace the floors. Meanwhile I'm gonna cruise it to all the summer hot spots.

Really like the setting and all. Looks real. working on a 37 Ford Street Rod and if all fails...I can make it look like an old build !! And still hope for the best !! Looks good man !!! Great job !!

I like both the build and the story, too! I like the barn find meets restoration project feel you gave it. One suggestion, though, maybe a ding and dent or two would have made the build and the story even better and added more character. You know, like a dent in the bumper where "Grandma bumped into the yellow concrete pole at the supermarket" and a ding or dent in the front fender where "Grandma accidentally hit a car pulling into a space at the drug store" kinda thing.

Grandma might have had something to do with the right rear fender.

This story line might be a little more removed from what happened to the car and more what is happening now, but I think it is important to tell a story in your mind.

There should be a reason for every mark, it keeps things realistic.

WOW!!! That's awesome build. Good looking and very low custom. How did you make that sheet metal look to the door and rear fender? Looking very nice. Those cars behind '56 Ford are very nice ones too. I have projects where I need some sheet metal look. But your car is very nicely shabby (?), specially white wall tires and wheels are very very great ones. I like it very much!!

Great build and a great story to go along with it. We used to run around in my buddy's 56 customline back in the 60s. One spot you forgot to rust is the top of the fenders behind the headlights. They were bad about rusting there. I love those 56s.
