Chuck Most Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Here's my latest 'stalled project finished in just a few hours' model... a '56 VW rod I started about a year ago, and just finished up last night. Amazing how fast they get finished when you actually WORK on them, isn't it? The Gunze Sangyo body is chopped beyond recognition with '27 T fenders, and the early Ford front axle has the '56 wheels while the rear axle carries Heller Citroen truck wheels. I made up the pipes from solder, and used parts box junk for all the rest. Here's a link to the whole buildup-http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/rat-alley/56-volksrod/ Thanks!
sjordan2 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I just love it. Between the Beetle and the Model T parts, this would be a "People"s Rod."
bigmikevee Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 (edited) Hey Chuck, Looks great, at the risk of sounding (typing?) stupid, what is sticking out of the rear window? Propeller, intake, wind-me-up-here, rocket launcher, James Bond thig-a-muh-jig, can't figure out what that is? Looks really cool, think your imagination on this one stayed up late, really like it. Thanks for posting! Mike Edited August 17, 2010 by bigmikevee

Jim Gibbons Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Ultra cool...looks like a tarantula and a beetle mated, then was interpreted into an automobile. Very impressive!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Chuck, you keep outdoing yourself. Beautiful!
crazyjim Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Another neat one. How do you come up with all these different ideas?
Sixties Sam Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Model T fenders on a Beetle?! Genius! Cool model! Sam
