Tijuanataxi Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Well, here is my Monkeemobile, not quite stock. I never really liked the Phaeton style top on the original MonkeeMobile, so I used parts from a MPC ´67 Pontiac GTO, to make this MonkeeMobile coupe. There are still a little detail paintjob missing...
Terror Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Nice job, man.I have been toying with a hearse idea.It looks sharp as a coupe.
mr moto Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Very cool idea! Looks much better than the original!
Kris Morgan Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 just plan STUNNING! That is how the original should have looked.
Chuck Most Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 It's been said already, but yeah= the original should've sported the stock GTO top! A marked improvement over the original, sir!
Lownslow Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 im gonna do that as soon as i find one that looks awesome
brett Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 just plan STUNNING! That is how the original should have looked. I agree with Kris and the others, awesome man
Jim0205 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Pretty far out stuff, a marked and welcomed improvment as others have said.
Guest Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 You do stunning work, but I will be the first to disagree, I dont feel that adding the coupe top is a improvement. The rear is too long for a coupe top, the front too pointed, and I dont really like modern tire/wheel combos, I much prefer the Cragar classic mags, but awesome work nonetheless.
W-409 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) I think, those wheels are looking too modern as midnightprowler said. They are not looking good on this originally old school styled MonkeesMobile. I have this same kit and I'll be using it for spare parts, I got it from model show here in Finland, 'cause I was ''runner up'' in Junior category... There are very good parts for other projects. Don't really know, what I do with that body, maybe I should test polishing or something to it... Funniest thing with this is that on the box there is ''Colorful decals''. Oh yeah, they are very very colorful... But anyway, your one looks nice! Edited September 28, 2010 by W-409

It would have worked a little better for me if the roof were lengthened to where there would have been a normal trunk length! While I agree the wheels are a bit too modern but then that is just me and this is an updated version of the Monkee Mobile is it not? Great job on the conversion to a coupe!
george 53 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Ohhhhhh This is just TOO COOL!!! THIS IS a MOOKIE DOOK!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Chuck Most Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I like the longish trunk and the big wheels- If I'd built it I think I'd have lowered the stance a bit more, but what do I know, I'm nuts!
Greg Cullinan Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Under Glass is the best section on this site.Where else would I be able to marvel at such a gorgeous concept and build. Awesome idea and execution. You did Davy Jones proud (think that was a MonkeeB))
dimaxion Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I have to comment here . This look is new and cool . The Pheaton idea was to hold lotsa passengers . I don't think the coupe would . Unless of course it is Friday or Saturday night at the Drive Inn . Did I just say that ?? Any wat , just right . Thanx ..
David G. Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Nice conversion! The original MonkeeMobile always seemed a bit awkward to me- rather like an oversized bathtub on wheels. Your version makes much more sense!
Jon Cole Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I like it... but then again, as a car slut I like most of 'em. That is how I would have built it. Wheels and stance are good. Yeah, the trunk could have been shortened in length, but with a lot more work. That would have been preferrable to lengthening the roof tho.
RatRod Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I like every single bit of it!!! Great build!!!
thebronze Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I really like it...only thing I woulda done is SLAM IT IN THE WEEDS
John Teresi Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I have seen this build before.......but I`ll say it again ........this build is absolutely terrific ..........AWESOME man.

You could get 3-4 people in the trunk of a 66-67 GTO depending on how big they were! I know! i had one! They just had to hope the line was short or moved quick!
Harold Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Now that is slick ! I can imagine it without the 671, and a nicely scooped GTO hood. Maybe with the roof from Revell's Chevelle wagon? The rear deck and up top from AMT's '66 442. Or using the custom tail light and rear pan from AMT's '65 Grand Prix. Oh oh....where's my razor saw and Bondo?....
seeker589 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 That thing WORKS! Just the right content of the original - with the bad stuff made so much better. I like it a-whole-lot-better than the original. Really love the stance! Great job!
samurai7 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 AwesomeRRRRRR.....I love it...."Does it come in black...."
