mrmike Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 This is my Cadillac STS-V built from the Revell "Uptown" kit and made into a stock vehicle.
mrmike Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks Christopher and Dave! Yes, this is a goofy kit, but after seeing two other Caddies built stock, I just had to put my own twist on one. I need to find a small briefcase for the trunk. Maybe Printable Mini's has something that I can print, fold, and add to the trunk..
Nova-ss Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 hi,Great job on this kit.I like the way it sits...it has a great looking stance.I like way the wheels and paint colors are.the truck opening is a good touch......looks good to me.Thank you,Chris
W-409 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 This is nice too, usually don't like new cars but this is built very nicely! Paintjob looks nice, interior is great too, nice detailing all over. Only one thing, it's not your mistake or something like that, but that engine looks just a little funny... I mean it's looking like just piece of plastic, but that's how it looks on the 1:1 car, but I just know nothing from these new engines... Nice job with building!!!
Jeff Johnston Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Very cool... I did the same thing with mine except its blue. Nice work.
niteowl7710 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Been following the build. Nice to see this one done. Excellent job!
mrmike Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Thanks guys! Very cool... I did the same thing with mine except its blue. Nice work. Jeff, was yours at the Classic Plastic show last month? If it was, it was an inspiration for building mine!
charlie8575 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Great job, Mike. As always a beautiful build. Jeff- if that STS was yours, I remember seeing it as well. Looked great. Hopefully next year I'll have something ready for the show for a change. Charlie Larkin
mrmike Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) Thanks Charlie! I'm pretty sure that was Jeff's Caddy at the Classic Plastic show. What do you think of the license plate? It was one that you had suggested. Edited October 17, 2010 by mrmike
Jeff Johnston Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Mike yeah that was mine. I am glad you liked it. 2 years ago Steve Salhany from Maine had a dark maroon one on the table which inspired me to build mine. So classic plastic must be the place to see stock STS Caddys' lol I thought Pete Wisniewski was building one too but I don't think he finished it.
charlie8575 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 What do you think of the license plate? It was one that you had suggested. Honored that you accepted my suggestion. Thanks, Mike. Charlie Larkin
mrmike Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Charlie, you'll have to share that honor with my wife as she had suggested the same. I'm glad you do, Wayne!
sjordan2 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Outstanding, and a cool wheel choice (did you change that from one of your earlier posts?).
mrmike Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks Skip and Felix! Skip, the wheels are the same, I painted the spokes with Humbrol Flat Gunmetal.
