TheCat Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 To paint this kit I used for the first time the NEW Testors' Lacquer spray paint. And I must say, they are AWESOME!!! I love them. They go on very smoothly. As you can see from this model.
Jon Cole Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Nice! VERY nice! When you say "new", are you referring to their "One Shot" line of spray paint?
TheCat Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Nice! VERY nice! When you say "new", are you referring to their "One Shot" line of spray paint? Yup, that's the one.
Joe Handley Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 That is some fantastic paint, matches the build too!
Foxer Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 A very tasteful build. I have some of that One Shot paint in a dark blue for a 49 Merc I have and just spoon shot it today to test. The fineness of the "flakes" is really nice. It did go on smooth and dried fast. I got some Pure Gold of the same and that is spectacular!
Fisher61 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Very nice Merc! Did you clear coat it, or does it dry with that shine?
davyou5 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Very Nice, I like it, wait till you see the one I am customizing .
W-409 Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 That's really clean model, I mean, it's built very very nicely, can't find any mistakes from it. Paintjob looks very great, smooth and shiney, I like this build very much, it's looking like 1:1 car so much... But can you post pictures from engine or interior, I would like to see them. Nice Mercury!
Modellpularn Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 That purple paint really suits this model. Now I got some more ideas on what to paint mine....

Nice Mercury! Here's a picture of the engine. Unfortunately I can't get a picture taken for the interior (windows are very small). And I did use Testor's Ultra Clear Spray to give it that awesome shine.
hemi Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Man I love the color you put on yours. And the pinstipes really set it off as well,I love your backdrop as well.A nice clean build Well done.
oldscool Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 That's another great looking model Felix! Excellent paint.
W-409 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Yes, I know, it's very hard to get picture from interior... It's hard with unchopped car and with this... But that engine looks very good, I like those valve covers alot, no plug wires= doesn't matter, when other model is this nice. Thank you for sharing this one!

Sixties Sam Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 EXCELLENT! I love it! Great color. I'm planning to do one in candy purple. I hope it looks as good as yours! Sam
TheCat Posted October 21, 2010 Author Posted October 21, 2010 Did you polish the body as well? I used Testor's Ultra gloss clear coat. It gives it that awesome super shine. So, no polishing is needed.
Ryan S. Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That's one sweet Merc! The purple looks better on this car than I would have thought. Looks great with that background too.
