Have you happened to order anything off him in the past say...3-4 years? He and I were just getting to know each other back then, and scheming on some decal ideas when he had the longest consecutive string of bad luck I've ever personally witnessed that included numerous computer disasters (both hardware & software) and a messy personal situation. I have not seen his website open to new orders since then. I would really like to see him come back online as his decals are fabulous.

First time. I read about that on the site, but I thought that was old news. Dang. I need some MO decals and the ones for my squad 51 project. Well, anyone know where to get some decals at??

That's the one. And was not affordable, but I got it anyways. lol

DW, since you said earlier the decals in yours aren't in the greatest shape, if you want me to scan mine and email them to you, send me a PM. I just checked mine and they look almost brand new. I think all I have is the truck, though, I'm not sure if the car's decals are on the same sheet or not, since the car was long gone when I got this one. Oh, and this one was affordable, too. My friend gave this one to me, but of course that was after he kept the bed and found one of the frame rails was broken in half, and he discovered there isn't an engine in it!

 Where could you find the room to keep all of them??n Are they all trucks or some cars in there too?

Believe me Justin, it's getting harder and harder, since my "model room" is half of my living room! My better half and I live in a very small house, and I often hear her say that she feels like she lives in a hobby shop! Here's a couple pics of my little slice of heaven.

The three shelf bookcase on top of the other two underneath it I just put in here (and filled in 10 minutes  ) this week.

Behind the doors of the hutch and the old TV stand I converted as half of my desk are also packed full of kits.

As you can see, too, some of the inventory are trucks, but most are cars, and I have some ships, planes, and military vehicles too.

Highway, about how many trucks do you have in your "Hobby Shop?" I don't see very many.

Yeah, you'd think a truck driver would have a trailer load of truck kits, but I don't! As it stands right now, I only have about 12 trucks and about 8 trailers, and a resin body for a Freightliner Classic XL condo. Thanks to the reissues AMT has been and is planning to release, that number is slowly growing!

Just a few little details to go, but its pretty much done.

The "Gearjammer Lee" is looking nice Clay.

I noticed on a few different builds of the freightliner that the builders are not putting on the air cleaner aswell as the air cleaner intake. Is there a reason for this? I've got the engine rebuilt but I'm just waiting on these final pieces. Any help would be great, thanks.

I could be wrong, but I think it's because if the interior doesn't fit all the way into the cab, the cab won't sit right on the frame. I had that problem with the one I finished a few months ago. It took alot of trimming and re-positioning to get it to work right.

It's just a matter of preference, and what options are on the truck. That kit part would of been a lightweight option. by not having the rear intake tubes and such a lot of pounds were removed from the truck, less weight = more payload. That box on top of the engine was actually the housing and filter all in one disposable unit.Freightliners were a very custom truck, you can put any type of intake on one and it would still be correct.I like duels so that's what I put on mine

These 2 are different set ups

This one has a intake mounted into the cab corner

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, but between all the family stuff with Christmas and finding out Monday that a friend and fellow towing professional passed away on Christmas Day as a result of being struck by a car outside of his towing company's garage on Dec. 18, I just haven't been on much. Anyway, I'm back and going to get working on a few things soon, and I may also add some more projects to my already full desk and to the build. I'll have to see how things go with the already long list, but I might be adding a few tow trucks to the list as a tribute to my fallen towing friend, and I might also be adding a Kenworth W900 as well as a tribute to my brother who was killed in Oct 1992 in an accident, a project that I have wanted to do for many years, but had forgotten some details of his truck. After a nice chat with my niece on Facebook a few nights ago, we were talking about old times and I found she might have some pics of his old KW, so we are going to get together and see if I can find any good reference pics, and she wants me to build one for her, too.

Ok, enough sad stuff, back to the build and some replies I have to catch up on. B)

Matt, your space intrigues me as i like to see how people make the most of small spaces.

Thanks, Dave, since I don't have the space to go out, my only choice was up. Even though it does get cramped at times, I'm even amazed I have so much crammed in a space not much larger than the bed of my dually! B)B)

Make that offical for me with 2 Revell Peterbuilt 359's with a Peerless trailer.

I've got you updated, Brandon. Even though I seen the pics of the kits in another thread, don't forget to post some here, too, especially after you start on them! B)

One of the last updates I will be entering because my project is almost complete.

Sounds like you need a few more trucks to keep you busy!:DB)

Well I've only been tinkering lately. I won't have any time in January, it's my last 3 weeks before exams and I'd like to get good marks, so models go aside and school comes to the foreground.

Made some chains with J hooks

I would have gotten alot farther today on my Freightliner but the decals for the truck that I had printed out did not work very well when it was time to apply them.

Don't worry Justin, you aren't the only one fighting things tonight, I've been fighting the Carpet Monster, and he's won!

I was drilling and installing clearance lights on the sleeper to match the cabs, and one of the posts holding the light snapped without me knowing, and the Carpet Monster ate that light before it even hit the floor!

HPIM2971.jpg

I've spent the better part of 5 hours crawling around on the floor around my desk and NOTHING!

P.S. If anyone just happens to have spare light lenses from this or the Italeri/Revell Ford Aeromax they can spare, let me know please!! B)

Have you ever tried this trick? Take a piece from a pair of your wife's messed up panty hose and put them over the end of the tube on your vacuum and go to town. You'll find that light in now time stuck on the end of your vacuum that way. Worth a try at least.

Another solution, Matt, is to use some silly putty to make a mold from one of the other lenses, then fill it with clear epoxy. Once it has set up (cured), you can tint it with clear yellow and clear orange paints until it matches the remaining kit pieces. Trim and sand it to fit to the bezel, and you've created a replacement lens in just a few hours time and a few easy steps.

;)

I thought of that, DW, but I guess I should have explained a little better, too. The carpet isn't a thick pile type, it's a low pile sorta like the rugs going into stores, so any dropped parts stay on top instead of sinking into it. Both me and the better half spent most of the night looking, it just took a bounce where it hid itself under something good, because we even moved all the boxes stacked in that area and nothing.

Look on the other side of the living room.

Did that too! ;)B) Whereever it went, it's hiding good! I was back on the floor again and looked through the trash can even, and still couldn't find it. I did find a PE little tree air freshener I didn't even know I had and very tiny compared to the light, go figure! At least the truck will smell good!:lol:

I have a Lambo project that got stalled because a rad fan decided to take a flying leap from me clamps while I was getting ready to paint it. Still have not found it, but I got an idea where it went. Just cant get the desk pulled out without destroying the whole room to look for it.

On another note, I've lost two hubcaps off of real cars in my lifetime. Funny how those always end up on the opposite side of the road than the wheel they came off of too. lol

Count me in on this one...just sliding in under the wire.

Put me down for:

1. Autocar heavy wrecker

2. Freightliner COE dual drive with a flatbed

3. Titan with a tanker

I'll post up picture first chance.
