I had to add a few shims for the thing to sit perfectly squared and centered.

All this paint chipping makes me miss the salting technique where you just brought out a pinch of salt and BOOM, it's be on there . . . holy cow, this stuff is TEDIOUS!!!

This sounds to be as realistic weathering as it gets! Do you think this is any faster than what it took my 1:1 VW bug to rust thru the floor pan? :P

Once again I am awe struck. :o:o As one of the guys put it, " I'm a modeler you're an artist". I enjoy watching your threads I learn something from each one, that I will more than likely try in the future. You have a real talent for this and I admire your skill. Keep inspiring us to challenge ourselves. Thanks.

After watching these hairspray weathered trucks come about, I've gotta say the hairspray looks much better on a beater work truck than a weathered rod. The work truck is gonna take a beating, gonna be dinged and chipped and battered. The neglected, weathered car .... not so much. I think the salt technique does a much better job replicating authentic weathering and rust thru's.

Regardless, your constant experimentation has been an inspiration to many builders. Thanks very much.
