wgflatliner Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Take the Lindberg Dodge Rammunition chassis, flat styrene sheets, styrene rods, some 1/35 scale weapons, and a club 'winter effects build' theme, and this is what you get. a fantasy-ish post apocalypse weapon of destruction. and fun. it's my first time (with help from a buddy) doing a diorama. I just needed him to show me how to lay down some ground work. all weathering and snow, etc, was done by me.
parki Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 OMG!!! Now thats different! I love the chain ladder hanging from the cab, a great touch. looks like it could be a bit draffty in that cab though
Jon Cole Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 How cool is that?! Great truck! Great dio base!
diymirage Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 i love the way the snow sits on the tires really makes it pop
wgflatliner Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 thanks everybody for the kind words! I really had a lot of fun building this up. It's original intent was for Blake's post apocalypse build, but my time line was way off, so the club's "winter effects" build-off made this model a perfect candidate. the cab isn't drafty! it's got a handy super crazy space continuum modulating heater core. the cold air offsets the heater when i got done with the truck itself, for SOME reason it looked incomplete, which is when i decided that a snowy muddy base was appropriate. once i finished it today, it was confirmed - it seems as though the base and the model together look.. complete? Either way, i'm glad you all enjoyed it!

wgflatliner Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Just got the results in from a local contest "winter effects" i got 1st place, "best winter conversion" with this truck! to say the least i was a bit shocked that i won compared to some of the other work that was in the case.
Baloo Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 OMG!!!... now if i saw that coming towards me, I'll run the other way real fast....
RodneyBad Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The base is Awesome. Great looking snow, muddy tire tracks and stream effects. The Abominable Snow truck was a Great Idea and it looks Great. Excellent work..
Chuck Most Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Best use of a Monster truck kit I've seen in a while!
Harry P. Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 So here's the obvious question: What did you use for the "snow?"
Dr. Cranky Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Doctor Cranky LOVES this one! Where's the Yetti Figure?
Joe Handley Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 So here's the obvious question: What did you use for the "snow?" Woodland Scenics does make artificial snow, kinda looks like it could be that stuff http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/785-140
