DRG Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Well I finally got it done. I made some mistakes on this one that I am aware of and I'm sure some I'm not. Please feel free to critique this build as I want to learn and get better. Thank you for looking.
ajulia Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Hello there friend! Kickin' build up fella! The wheel package is awesome!!! I say keep on wit the keepin on man there will always be another project after this one and many more mistakes to learn from all in all have fun!! peace Tito
george 53 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 ALL that Black is just SCREAMIN for some BMF! Foil that rascal and she will be good ta go!!! Nice clean job. I really didn't see any mistakes.
vaughn Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Some BMF will definitely help this puppy if you want. But looks good. That little gadget with the magnifying glass ? Did you use to tie your own flies for fishin? Thats what I use anyway. Nice.
mikemodeler Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Looks Good! Don't sweat the details Don, just keep working on them and you will improve with each one. Give the bare metal foil a try on the next one, you will be amazed at the difference it makes. Choosing black to paint a car shows some confidence in your abilities, keep at it!
DRG Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 Everything but the distributor are from the kit.
Mike Kucaba Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Nice build. Get a hold of some Tamiya Smoke, It's like a translucent black and brush some on the grille, use a cotton swab and dab at it until you like the depth.
Modlbldr Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I like it a lot. The interior looks good in those colors. The wheels look great on that car. Only criticisms I would say would be BMF, blackwash the grille and install the headlight lenses. I'm still learning from each build after 30+ years. Keep it up. Later-
DRG Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 I would like to try BMF but in all honesty I'm leery of it right now. Good Lord, I forgot the headlight lenses. Thank you.
charlie8575 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 The black looks good on that. I agree a wash on the grille would improve the look overall substantially, but you've done a great job overall. Charlie Larkin
davyou5 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I like the Black paint, It really suits it! Excellent Job! B) .
John Teresi Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Donald.....turned out great man......thank`s for sharing.
crazyjim Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Try the BMF stuff, Donald. Worse case is that you just peel it off. Your bubbletop looks good in black.
Clay Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Donald, be sure to use white glue for the lenses so they dont get cloudy from the other glue.
MikeMc Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I would like to try BMF but in all honesty I'm leery of it right now. Good Lord, I forgot the headlight lenses. Thank you. Got to try the BMF.....if I can ...you can!! What a fine 409.....
Greg Cullinan Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Looking good,This is a car I am anxious to build. Your color choice is ideal in my mind.
