parki Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Wo!!! now that is different, Awesome build. very clean. Do you have any pics of your dads 1.1 car John?
Peter Lombardo Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 That sure must have been quite a handful at speed running over the salt flat. Great looking build, as usual John. Very reminiscent of the garage built lakesters, built back in the '40's, '50's and '60's. Those guys were the real pioneers of the hot rod and drag racing community. They blazed whole new paths with ingenuity, sweat and, in some cases, blood. Very impressive looking build.
vaughn Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Thats cool John. Like those front tube tires.
davyou5 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Wow! I don't know your history, but I imagine that your father is proud of that build! Excellent Job! .
jbwelda Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 wow that is unreal! when you said "buick bonneville" i got the entirely wrong idea!!! what was the history of the car? got any photos from back in the day? very very nice build there of a unusual subject!
Greg Cullinan Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 All I can say is what I've said before. Your builds are exceptional. Your photography is flawless. Put that in a 1/1 magazine you'd fool everyone.
Foxer Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 That DOES classify as a classic! My builds of "family" cars looks nothing like this. Great looker!
Jantrix Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Fantastic work. Very impressive. I'm a little curious though why the engine was in there sideways and using a chain drive. Would someone more knowledgeable than me illuminate me?
Draggon Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 That is an impressive lot of scratchbuilding!!
Dave Darby Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You sure that isn't the real one? Very awesome work!
