Jared Roach Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Cool. I just picked one of these up the other day and it looks awesome! The fit of it is great. I'm build mine as a protouring when I get to it.
RobH Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 just got done primering the body and hoods, and idk but the grey primer is looking good as a color for it not sure
jphillips1970 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Hey Rob - It's one of Revell's better kits to have come out in the past year - I have several of them and am working on different styles - I might consider building the kit in grey primer to give it a "almost" ready look for a drag car - But my plans may change as the build go's on - No matter what color you pick it's still a winner of a kit - Post more pic's as things pregress - Thanks - Joe
brett Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Just check the under glass section Rob, theres bound to be one of almost every color in there. Car suits most all colors as well.

mikemodeler Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Rob, Sounds like you want our approval for a primer build and all I will say is if that is where you are headed, Go For It ! Build it like you want, you can always get another to paint blue. A word of caution on that blue- the metalflakes are pretty big so the color doesn't really reflect a factory color. Makes for a nice custom though. I have one nearly done and it is painted hugger orange and I plan to build a few more in different colors.
Wolf75 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Bretts right. I've seen a lot of colors on this car, and they have come out pretty good. Me I made mine metallic blue, and silver.

diymirage Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 looks like your off to a good start (too bad it didnt come with a hemi though) about leaving it in primer, here is something to consider its a duster im waiting on (just need some parts for the engine to finsih it up) anyway, the paint is clear over primer
Nick Winter Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 The Primer look fits the shape of that Nova if you ask me.
coolcar429 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 i did a 69 camaro in that color it does not look that bad. this is the best pict. could find of it.

Guest Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Do a test spray on something (like a plastic spoon) before you shoot your model with it. The metallic in the Testors one coat is way too big IMO. I painted a Nova with the Icy Blue and regretted it. The color looks good, but the metal flakes are just way too big. Someday I'll repaint it.
Modlbldr Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 How about the Marina Blue from the Testors Lacquer? I've got a can of it to paint a 67 Vette. Should look good. Later-
Brutalform Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Tamiya TS-51 Racing Blue is a nice blue IMHO. The flakes in it are tiny, and look correct for scale.
RobH Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 heres the motor,, gunna be working on it alot tonight and tomorrow ( dang snow haha!)
