Mr. Moparman Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I saw a design in Scale Auto and decided to build a Phantom Hemi Challenger T/A. It will be a tribute to the big kuana and the wonderful place he has here. It will have a Hemi, a 727 tranny, and will contain several resin pieces. The paint of choice is Testors One-Coat Lacquer Purple-Lishiosh. Enjoy!
ChrisPflug Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Isn't a Hemi Challenger T/A a bit like a '69 Big Block Z-28
dwc43 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Isn't a Hemi Challenger T/A a bit like a '69 Big Block Z-28 Nope. Not even close. A Hemi Challenger will smoke that cheby big block every time.
ChrisPflug Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 And if there are any turns in the road, the 340 T/A will leave the Hemi car behind as well
Mr. Moparman Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Definition of Mopar: Mopar; car, Leaves Chevy,Ford, and GM behind, and likes to smoke a import afterwoards.
ian ashton Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 He is saying that because the TA Challengers all came from the factory as small blocks, while the RT could be had with the Big Block.
Mr. Moparman Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Oh ok. Hey Ian how much for one of your Slant 6 with a 727?
ian ashton Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Oh ok. Hey Ian how much for one of your Slant 6 with a 727? $8, just finishing the molds and instructions. The closest thing to a 'Hemi TA' Challenger was N94 Hemi RT, currently owned by Charley Lillard. N94 is the option code for the fiberglass hood; Such a cool car: Edited January 10, 2011 by ian ashton

Mopar - D Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I think I may have to add another 70 Challenger to my collection. Hemi orange W/Hemi and the T/A hood
ian ashton Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Send me a PM with you email and I can send you some more reference pics of you like. The owner of that car is a good friend.
Mr. Moparman Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 I've got a update! Today I went a got my paint. The engine will wear custom valve covers. It is still in need of its air cleaner witch is taking a swim in the purple pond. In order for this engine to fit the engine mount on the passenger side had to be moved up. Here it is in it's new position. The body in primer. I had to do some sanding in these areas on both sides. Enjoy!
71datsun1200 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I really like the 1:1 cant wait to see your completed project.
Mr. Moparman Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 So while the engine is waiting on its pre-wired dizzy from Kris Morgan, I decided to do some other stuff. The intierior is complete. A shot at the kit Gregg went and got along with the car modelers favorite magazine. Looking forward at the dash. The engine bay. The body after being painted, detailed, decals applied, and cleared. The chassis detailed. Enjoy!
Mr. Moparman Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 WHO-HOOOOO!!!! My pre-wired distributer came today from Morgan Automotive Detail. Kris's parts are absolutly beautiful! I have got the motor wired up. Sorry about the picture being so small. Enjoy!
FASTBACK340 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Oh ok. Hey Ian how much for one of your Slant 6 with a 727? I love Mopar guys teasing each other.... That N94 Challenger is indeed pretty cool. I don't recall ever seeing it before. Thanks for posting. Challenger build is coming along nicely.
Bridgebuster Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I've got a update! Today I went a got my paint. The engine will wear custom valve covers. It is still in need of its air cleaner witch is taking a swim in the purple pond. Enjoy! Looking real good buddy. We're all watching
moparfarmer Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I can't remember if thats the new Challenger from Revell from the first post. (Getting old, memory not working good)..If it is, make sure you piece it together before final assembly, the chassis hangs down from the rocker panels just a little bit(shows chassis) and under the hood should be the same color as the car.(sorry I'am just used to pointing that out to people who build Mopars, its your model you do as you wish)..Going to look good when you are finished. Keep going.......
