Chuck Most Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Is there a 1:24 plastic kit or die cast replica of one? Stop it. Stop laughing. Stop it now!!!!
ra7c7er Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I have been wondering if the Robin was made also. Such a weird and scary car.
highway Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Is there a 1:24 plastic kit or die cast replica of one? Stop it. Stop laughing. Stop it now!!!! You just want to "modify" one like they did on "Top Gear", don't you!?!?!
SuperStockAndy Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 You mean a Reliant Robin like this?! As far as models go, I haven't seen any. They'd be fun to customize though!
Modelmartin Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 You could make one out of any econobox kit. Narrow the front and fill in the front wheelwells. Then move the rear wells forward a bit. The body shape looks like a Rabbit/Golf. AMT and Esci both made the MKI kits.
paul alflen Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) CHUCKIE, JUST GOOGLE IT. LOTS OF NICE PICTURES. WHAT YEAR AND STYLE DO YOU WANT? ONE PICTURE LOOKS LIKE YOU COULD BUILD IT OUT OF A CHEVETTE PROMO WITH A MODIFIED HENRY J FRONT END . Edited February 9, 2011 by paul alflen

highway Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 No, but now that you mention it... I think it would be interesting! Some say the STIG approves!
Chuck Most Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 I have an AMT Scirocco, maybe I can do the 'Robin Super Sport MK VIV'

Not sure if you’re still looking, but if you know anyone with a 3D printer Nahuel sells one on Cults3d…I did a test print of one today (didn’t quite nail it, but the file is good and looks well proportioned to me…) (Sorry it took 13 years to reply…?) 1
rattle can man Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I miss watching them race at Mildenhall, U.K.

He showed me the English equivalent of demo derby, where they actually race for positions too, and I’d like to do a build of one of those cars for my display case also. 1
mr moto Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 There used to be a kit of it but it kept falling off of the hobby store shelves. 2
rattle can man Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 I lived in England for 3 years. I went to watch the "Banger" races once a month if life allowed. It was usually Bangers and either Brisca stocks (late model stockcars), minis (drivers usually 16 and under), or Reliants running on a given day/ weekend. Reliant races always started with the song "Rockin Robin", Bangers were sometimes vans, box trucks, minibuses, two cars chained front to back (both powered and both with a driver), one car attached to the top of another, towing something (boats on trailers, "caravans', etc.), or anything else they could dream up. They worked on the cars in a field while the cars were dangling from a hoist, and spectators could walk right under them if they didn't get in the way. 1

The world has such a stick up its backside these days, it's good to hear sanctioned, carefree irreverence still takes place somewhere. I hope these events still take place.

rattle can man Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 That was almost 20 years ago. It may have changed since then. But ya'll are right about how risk averse and safety conscious we have become.
