Magic Photos Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 That looks great Chris love the stance. The body work looks great also.
Codi Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Chris, I just went through the pics you posted on the previous page. WOW. Especially love the springs on the blower burst panel. Nice touch. The entire build looks just fantastic. No need to hurry it along now. One step at a time right? !! Thanks for sharing all the pics and updates. Tim

John Teresi Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Chris......the best up-date ever!!!!!........"Wow" some mighty good stuff here........I just messed my self over and over on each post
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Great update. The journey moves forward another step. Looking forward to more.
futurattraction Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Stunning - and the body isn't even in paint, yet... That is such a masterpiece, Chris, even in its unfinished state. I bet you're pumped, now that you've got it even this far along in the mockup stage. Every little detail (like the burst panel springs) that's present in this just blows it off the charts. Wow! Stunning - oh, did I say that already????
Nitrozilla Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Outstanding update Chris. Just like the build, you went all out on this one. Scott, I wish you could see this car in person. As good as Chris' pics are, it has to be seen up close and personal.
Mister Twister Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Lookin' good Chris.....You're starting to see some daylight at the end of that tunnel....Keep at it!
sflam123 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Absolutely stunning work on the body and tin. This isn't any model any more. It has transitioned from a model to a work of art!! Steve
1320wayne Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Amazing work. It's nice to see that you are getting close to a finished piece. Don't forget that you still have to scratchbuild the starter so you can fire this thing up when your done! Keep it up!
Danno Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 More on what Nitrozilla Joe said: This is one of those rare models that actually transcends modeling. Sitting on the table, it looks every square centimeter like a shrunken REAL car. It is uncanny. Your mind is tricked into thinking you are looking a real car. Truly. You have to remind yourself it is a miniature. Then you remember . . . it is no kit. Superlative execution. I just can't wait until it is finished enough that Chris will stop messing with it!

Thank you Danno for putting into words what my stumbling brain failed to execute. Transcendence is exactly what this build represents. A new level of accuracy heretofore attempted by many and achieved by few.
Randy D Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hi Chris, Really enjoyed seeing this in person. The more angles I see of this masterpiece the more I appreciate your skills!!! Very cool to see the body on the chassis pics. This just keeps getting better each update Randy
1 bad55 stan Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 That is a stunning build up Chris !The detail work is of a high standard, full credit to your skills and patience.Great work and i'm looking forward to seeing it finished aswell...
Mooneyzs Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 Clayton... That scratch build trailer sounds awesome. Hopefully you will be able to make it out to the Desert Scale Classic next year. But I do plan to hit up a few of the So Cal shows once I get this build done. Dave... Thank you my friend. Mike... Thank you. I think I got the stance as best as I could. and I cant wait to add a little more body filler and block the body out so it is ready for paint. Tim... Thank you for the compliments on the build, its much appreciated. I may have to redo the springs so they look better but it was something I wanted to add that little extra touch to. You are right one step at a time on our builds. Ray... Thank you my friend. Martin... Thank you. Its been a Huge step for me to get this in primer and I couldn't be happier with it at the moment. oh you know I will be very careful with it now. I can't risk dropping it at this point. on the real car the grill is not opened up its painted black on the grill openings. John... Thanks my brother. Means a lot coming from you. Bob... Thank you. Little by little I am getting there one step at a time. Scott... Thank you my friend. I can't tell you how pumped I am to have it in primer. Now I am anxious to get more of it done now. Joe... Thank you my friend. As you know I am trying my best to knock this thing out of the park. Scott... I am going to try to hit up a show or two in the midwest/east coast once its done. I would love to meet many of the builders there. So its a goal to make it out to some of those shows. Darryl.... Thank you. Its a great feeling to finally see a little day light which is making all of the hard work pay off. Danny... Thank you. Steve... Thank you for the compliments on calling this a work of art. I have one more minor thing I need to do to the body tins then I can start installing all of the rivets into it. I can't wait to see what it looks like with them in place. Wayne.... Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot. You know I have been debating on making a little starter motor for it and I think I am just going to have to now and I was thinking I may need to make some sort of Milk crate to put the battery in. I think it would make a neat little display adding the starter motor. Danno... Thank you my friend. It means a lot. I am pretty sure I can say that it will be ready for next years Desert Scale Classic. I know Its been our running joke about that but I rally feel that I should have it done by the end of this year. Randy... Thank you my friend. It was an absolute joy to get to meet you at the Desert Scale Classic. I just wish that I got to sit down with you a little more than we did get to talk because I would of loved to of picked your brain on your soldering techniques. People need to see your work in person to truly see how much of a craftsman you are. Your work is just gorgeous. Stan... Thank you for the kind words. Its been a fun build so far and It sure has tested my patience at times too...lol Well Fellas... I just wanted to apologize that I haven't gotten much done since the DSC on this build. The past few days I have been fighting a cold that has me laid up on the couch. Anyway I hope to get back on this real soon. Thanks for continuing to follow along on this build.
10thumbs Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Hi Chris, excellent! Super clean work and fine details. I love the slightly visible valve cover and head gaskets! Very nice touch. Michael
tyrone Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Looks Awesome Chris.. in this update you can easily see the hard work paying off... keep it coming bro...
Armornv Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Man Chris, you are putting a truck TON of effort into this one and it shows! Very, very nice man!
jwrass Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Chris, I haven't been around in awhile OMG!!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!!!!! You have been burning the candle at both ends. I'm happy to see you are using 1:1 paint products!!! PPG, Custom Shop and HOK are favorites of mine. I'm hoping you found those products to be very friendly! I know you have been getting some flap about the time you have put in!! I'm sure it's all in jest!! By definition you may have built a model or facsimile of Snakes Car. However in reality you have a piece of artwork!!!!!! The time and dedication you have put in for your self enjoyment of the hobby you love is has to be very fulfilling!!!!! Taking us along for the ride on this most incredible journey has been a act few would attempt!!! It takes time to shoot the pictures, edit, and respond the way you do is a act of brotherhood and unselfishness. THANK YOU!!! I look forward to the rest of the ride!!! Jimmy "RASS"
Chi-Town Hustler Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 There are no more superlatives that haven't already been said....Wow, incredible to finally see the body mocked-up on the chassis....What a mean-ass stance that thing has!!....Just like the 1:1 car did.... Chris, when this is all over and finished, I think you need about a month-long vacation somewhere!!....And don't forget to take out an insurance rider on this thing....Seriously!!
Mooneyzs Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Micheal... thank you very much. I really appreciate the kind words. As far as the valve cover gaskets go, I wanted that ever so slight detail to be there. I know it doesnt just jump right out at someone but will be noticed when taking a longer look. Tyrone... thank you my friend. It has been rewarding now seeing it in some primer. It sorta has added a little fuel to my tank once again. and I can't wait to get even more work done on it. seeing it the way it is has made me realize all of the hard work has been worth it so far. Clint... thank you. I really do appreciate the nice words. I still have some small tricks up my sleeves for some details. There are a few things That I still need to design up and that I cant wait to get to. I just hope they turn out the way I have visioned in my head. Ira... thank you so much for the kind words. Jimmy... hey man thank you my friend. I have always loved using PPG and HOK paints but this was the first time I decieed to use the 2K primer. And I have to admit I like it much better than the rattle can stuff, although I will still use ratle can primer in small parts but for my 1/16th scale bodies thia 2K primer will be all I use now. You are welcome for how Ibtake the time to edit the pics and respond to everyone. Its how I started the build to show everyone pretty much every step of the build. It will also be how I continue the rest of the build because I have enjoyed sharing it with everyone. Lee... thank you. I am pretty happy with the stance and have gotten it as close as I could to the reference pics i went by. I will tell you this much when I am done with this build I already have a build that is going to be a out of the box build with no detail... lol but then I have about 3 other cool builds I want to stsrt at the same time...lol. you are right that I may need to take insurance out on this build... lol I just cant wait to have it done.
