Monte's Motors Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Now we have seen posts about kits on hand and hoaders. Let talk about BUILT kits. Automotive only. The number I have built is : 90 in homemade case and plastic cases on shelves. Thanks for your replys
Zoom Zoom Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Too many to count. I admit it, I'm a freak...my lawn and yard might suffer, I might not vacuum enough, but I manage to make plenty of time to build my models Part of this is the inevitability after looking at my 1,000+ unbuilts that they'll never get built anytime in (multiples of) my lifetime. Now that I build a lot of the newer releases, and still can't keep up with all the new stuff I want to build, at least the "inbox" isn't growing anything like it used to. I'm on track to build 15-18 models this year. I've built that many in the past 2-3 years per year. I don't want to count how many...I sold a few, gave away a few, still don't have enough room. But I'm having fun
diymirage Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 as many as i have kept and not scavenged for parts ? maybe about 20
Casey Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Seven. Any model I built in the past and wasn't enamored with was either parted out, sold, traded, or tossed.
Brian_R Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Well, I’ve got 380 built and on display – HO scale to 1/16th with the majority 1/25th. Brian
Agent G Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 22 here at the house, 47 left in a display back at the St Louis Police Academy. G
highway Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 you mean completed? thats funny! You sound like me Bill, I don't know what "completed" even means!!
Dr. Cranky Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Hum, I think the number is over 100 in the Lab-RAT-ory! Maybe a bit more like 130. But, of course, then there are the ones where something went terribly wrong!
ra7c7er Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 3 of my own and somewhere in the range of 125 in built ups that I have bought for parts or what not.
Seattle Mike Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 None - once they're built they're no longer kits!
Nova-ss Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I have about 25 right now,but have built some many and sold them and gave away lots.I can't remember any more and it don'y matter any ways.but about 25 are here right now. Thanks,Chris
LAone Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 i have 3 recently and about 6 from 10 years ago that had some small parts fall off while being moved from house to house to house to house..lol
1955chevy Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Completed that's funny, I think I have more started than finished. So on to finished, I have 32, 26 on display in cases the rest packed away. I finished my 1925 T yesterday.
Foxer Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 13 under glass ... maybe that's why I can't finish anything!
tiking Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I guess I'm the baby of the bunch here. I've built a total of 3 with a fourth one in the making soon. I'm still new to automotive modelling.
Eshaver Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I'm guessing here . I would venture to say five dozen ...... Ed Shaver
fanofratfink Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) I'm guessing here . I would venture to say five dozen ...... Ed Shaver I guess I have around 100 built, twenty or so that survived from early years of building. I have around 125 unbuilts, and about 600 in our vending rotation. Oh yeah, about 125 old builups from the 60s/70s Randy Edited May 16, 2011 by fanofratfink
Trae Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I've finished a bunch in 20+ years, but I've only got about a dozen still in my possession. I seem to have a habit of donating them for club auctions or just giving them away to friends that really like them.
Custom Hearse Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 11... I had more, than I would think of something else I wanted to do to it, and then tear it down and start over again...
