Gregg Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 This is a test of the new Gallery and online features we will be doing on the main web site. Randy Derr's award winning Sprint Car is shown here, shot in the Model Cars Magazine photo booth at GSL, in Salt Lake City, April 30, 2011: Randy Derr Sprint Car Hopefully, this will work. It will be a number based system, like you would see in MacWorld and other magazines. Say you want to see a photo review of a new kit, like a brand new Revell Yugo, it would be the site (www.modelcarsmag.com), then the kit number, say for example it's 85-2000, the review would the last four, 2000 so the site would be: modelcarsmag.com/2000 this is only an example Don't click the 2000, there's nothing there Or maybe I should make a spoof page, .... too much meds..... Randy's page works (I hope) I hope this system will work. Oh, yeah, for reviews of other kits, that are only three numbers, like AMT, etc., it would be: A200, or something like that There will be references in the print articles I'm getting there.....
Chuck Most Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Say you want to see a photo review of a new kit, like a brand new Revell Yugo.... Whoa, whoa, whoa... how did I miss THAT one?

ra7c7er Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 The new feature sounds cool. I will keep watching for more updates.
Foxer Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) MacWorld ... whoa, whoa, whoa.. how did I miss that one? I hate to say it, but what is a MacWorld? Sorry Gregg ... this sounds like a cool idea. I like being able to easily find a kit review, but that numbering system may need more thought. One problem would be knowing the kit model number. How would anyone know that unless they had to kit to read it off of. I usually search for kits I don't have before buying. I'm just not sure a number based index serves any purpose. Of course, I would never have a Mac so maybe that's where my problem lies. I'm sure I'm missing something. Probably the database you have in mind and how that might be indexed. raymanz Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) Oh-Yea-AWESOME! Randy is an old buddy from when I used to go to the model meetings. I,seen this over at SA's site and was amazed as was with most of his work.Didn't think he could out top his 69Sunoco Camaro-but I was wrong. Can't wait to see this car in-person. Great Job Randy!!! Gregg-Dig the new feature test-Good Job! Edited May 26, 2011 by raymanz
Bernard Kron Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Great idea to expand the content of the mag via the magazine website. Not sure about the numbering system.... But your photography is superb, fully up to the standard set by this exceptionally detailed and realistic model. No matter how close you got the details all scaled to the eye. And the images were all tack sharp with great depth of field. They didn't look like closeups of a miniature at all. What a treat!
