TheCat Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Here's my latest creation. Bought the new Revell 1969 Chevy Nova COPO and modified it to a 1970 Chevy Nova Yenko Deuce. This is my most detailed engine to date. Here's the finished product.
Rob Hall Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cool variation! Sharp build. The Nova kits lend themselves to so many different versions.
cruz Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Terrific job on this kit man and yes, the engine came out very cool!
george 53 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ANOTHER great build, Felix! It came out real nice! Are those Fred Cady decals? They look good.
sjordan2 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Great authenticity. At first, I was questioning the lack of chrome trim on the "B pillars" and the ride height on the front suspension, until I checked out 1:1 versions and saw you totally nailed it. Good show.
semijoe Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ive own 4 novas in the past. have to say this looks real. great job on it.
TheCat Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Thank you very much everyone! Allot of hard work went into building this one. Edited June 13, 2011 by TheCat
TheCat Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 ANOTHER great build, Felix! It came out real nice! Are those Fred Cady decals? They look good. Thank very much you George - Those are Keith Mark's Decals. I have to say, Keith Mark creates some awesome decals. I have bought at least 19 decals sets for my many projects and they all look great.
LAone Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 that is one sweet nova. fantastic work on the detailing. engine is very convincing.
Guest Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Beautiful! Nice to see some engine detailing Felix! Kudos!

Len Woodruff Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Great build! How did you replicate the side marker lights?

Thanks Skip - I also found that odd when I was building this kit that the Chevy Nova lacked Chrome trim on the B pillars.
W-409 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Really cool Nova! I like the paintjob on it, and color looks good too. Nice conversion... The kit quality? Good? I like the interior, and engine detailing. Stance is looking very good too, and overall look is very good. Nice build sir!
TheCat Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 Great build! How did you replicate the side marker lights? Hi Len, Thanks. Replicating the side markers a really easy. They are decals. They came with the Keith Mark's Decals Yenko Deuce set. The decal set also comes with all the Yenko side, front, and rear marking and also with a decal for the dashboard and engine compartment. All in All the Keith Mark Decal set was great!!

I like the interior, and engine detailing. Stance is looking very good too, and overall look is very good. Nice build sir! Hi Niko - Thank you very much. Kit Quality: This was my first time ever building a Nova and I must say that this Revell Nova kit went extremely well together. Just one little thing you may have to watch out for when attaching the body to the chassis, and that is the rear Window. It tends to separate by the bottom. But beside that, there's no major issues. I highly recommend this kit to anyone.
Guest Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Lee - Thanks!! You inspired me to keep working on those engine detailing. You are welcome sir, glad I was able to inspire another builder. Nice job btw. Keep it up!
spkgibson Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Beautiful job, You could have saved alot of time converting the back to a 70 though, I would have used the bezels from the AMT 72 kit, and cut off the 68-69 style ones off the bumper, And trimmed the filler panel between the taillights to fit the AMT bezels in , Plus you would have already had the correct taillights by doing it that way, Also, There is no line where the filler panel and the body meets, That should be all one piece, with the slight character line in that area.At a slight slant, Same with the corners of the top of the quarter panels just above the rear bumper. I made the mistake of not doing so after I painted 3 of these kits. Very nice build of a rare car, And I hope these tips help you out on the next 68-72 Nova you build. I love the color and the detail you put into this Nova. Very Nice!
