Chuck Most Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Dug up a few bits and pieces to stuff into the Model A, might have the A mostly done later tonight. And finally have a solid idea for the camper.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Wow, you sure know how to get EYEGORE cranked up! Great stuff, Mr. Most!
Flyboyz1011 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 This is some amazing stuff. This is what modeling is all about.
rustybill1960 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Yes indeed Chuck! You never seize to amaze! Your builds have always been a delightful pleasure to view! Thank You for sharing Your builds with Us all! i really like Your style Man!! Later Russ
Chuck Most Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 What do you think for the camper.... 1. Totally scratchbuilt monstrosity of some sort. 2. Reworked MPC Open Road Camper. 3. Reworked Galaxie 5th wheel trailer 4. Cut down rear half of a Dodge van body. I'm leaning toward #1.
W-409 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 1. Totally scratchbuilt monstrosity of some sort. That would be the best. And this project looks very good. I like that trailer, it's something different. '29 Ford pickup looks very good too... And that Chevy truck is my favorite of course, it's a Chevy!
Chuck Most Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Construction has begun on the camper, It will be fitted out with furniture and appliances from the Open Road camper kit somewhere down the line.
John Teresi Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Chuck......looking good........your moving right along with this build.....very cool.
Chuck Most Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Doing a little research on travel trailer layouts- it's amazing how much stuff they're cramming into these things nowadays! Looks like fitting out the trailer will be fun.
gasser59 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I have to agree on a totally scratch-built trailer. I've started one myself but it too has stalled for the moment. Most of my interior is scratch-built with basswood. Check it out and maybe you'll get some ideas. And yes, they are really cramped in there. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48138&hl=&fromsearch=1 I'll be following this one closely and can't wait to see more.
randx0 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Dear Chuck ,I mean this in the nicest way possible,YOU ARE A FREAK! I love your build and the fact that it keeps going on . Pretty soon you will have an Austrailian road rat train. But then you would have to convert everything to right hand drive. I wouldn't put it past you.
Chuck Most Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Bottom half of the trailer shell and chassis is pretty much done. I used diamond plate for the bottom panels. I'm going for a rat rod look with the camper- like somebody chopped, channeled, and sectioned an old Nomad camper, or built something up from spare metal and camper pieces. Now that the basic platform is done I can start on the interior junk! Speaking of an old Nomad camper- I'll be loosely basing the layout on the Nomad I used to have- dining room area up front, kitchen/storage in the middle, two sofa beds, and the bathroom at the tail end. At least that's the plan for now!
Jantrix Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Wow Chuck. I'm really enjoying this, keep'r goin'.
Chuck Most Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Still need to finish up the details on the car hauler trailer, I think I'll wrap that up before I do much on the camper.
Alyn Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Man! You're sure taking some big bites with this project. You're always outside the box, but this is almost outside the Chuck. Fun watching where you're taking this thing.
Dweb7321 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 this whole thing is about 19 different kinds of awesome! very inspired at the moment, off to the workbench (aka living room coffee table)
Dr. Cranky Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Nice entry there, Chuck. I guess you can change out the models on the trailer for many photo op moments. Cool.
Chuck Most Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Settle down folks, this one hasn't seen any workbench action in at least five months! That might have to change pretty soon...
randx0 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 SOOOO how about now?any updates? this thing is totally sweet and epic in scope.
Chuck Most Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 Well, I did (literally) blow the dust off the camper just yesterday, if you believe that. Nothing in the way of building, but digging it out of the purgatory pile did make me want to get cracking on it again. I suppose we'll see here pretty shortly.
