crazyjim Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Before the new server I would open Photobucket, go to a particular picture, click on the bottom box (it would say "copied", go over to my posting in the forum and paste the pic. Photobucket seems to be working the same, but when I go back to the forum and right click there's no "paste" option. I have pics of my latest build to share.
tabsscale1 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I always use the right button on my mouse and when the box opens up from that i use the paste in that box
gasser59 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) I just use the paste (Ctrl + V) on the PC to paste my link in the location I want it posted. I thought this was how it was done by everyone. Not true? When posting multiple pictures, I hit an extra return and that will separate them with a line of white space. Now if I could just get any avatar to show up. Since the latest upgrade, I haven't been able to get anything to work. Edited August 4, 2011 by gasser59

MikeMc Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) If your working from the page of images on photobucket, you have to highlight the IMG line and then copy it. The "auto copy" only works now in single image mode. Thats why there is no paste....if it isn't copied it will not show paste Edited August 4, 2011 by MIKE THE MANIAC
crazyjim Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Very strange. I posted my '40 Ford S/D. The first 3 pics went easy this time. Clicked on the IMG box at Photobucket and it changed to copied. Went over to the forum and right clicked "paste". The pics pasted. The next 2 pics I wasn't able to paste in the forum so I tried the control v and that worked. Thank you for the assitance but there are still issues with the "new" forum. brett Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I'm having the same trouble as Jim, using latest Firefox and (no laughing ) XP
MrObsessive Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Let's see what we have here....................... Okay, what I did Jim was enlarge the photos to max------right click on the pic, and then selected "Copy Image Location". I then hit the image button in the text area where you're posting. Right clicked again and hit "Paste", or hit "Control V"-------hit OK and you're pics are showing as above. BTW, I'm using FIrefox 5 here on the board. NICE seats BTW! Hope this helps!
crazyjim Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 I'm using XP and IE8 for a couple of more weeks. New machine will have Windows 7 and I'm going to use Firefox. What's really strange is having no problem with 3 pics clicking on Photobucket and right click paste on the forum. The last 2 pics copied from from Photobucket but I had to use control v to paste on the forum. Those are my castings, Bill and are available through Crazy Scale Auto Parts. I've just added some Holley Dominator carbs, electronic ignition module, old style voltage regulator, and those cast aluminum (I think) gas pedels.
MikeMc Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) I've had zero problems with XP and IE 8 on my tower. Harry P. Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING WRONG! Just where do you put the Glosscote? Did you have to sign up as a "new" member to get rid of the problems you were having with the site?
MikeMc Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING WRONG! Just where do you put the Glosscote? Not sure how that got there!!!
crazyjim Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Nope. Crazyjim was still there. I wasn't getting email notices so I went in and clicked on every box that was available. Now I get email notices. That's the only thing I changed on the forum and haven't changed a thing on my computer. Still have the same Photobucket account and it looks the same and appears to act the same. Just the forum is different. It doesn't make sense to me that some pics come over with a right click to paster and others I have use control v.
Steve Keck Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Did you have to sign up as a "new" member to get rid of the problems you were having with the site? Not only did I have to sign up again, but, Gregg had to make some changes on his end. I'm not sure what they were, but we did have a momentary brown-out here in Arizona. Even after the "new" me I could only log in if I opened a new browser. Then, if I tried to answer a PM I got a 10222 error message saying I wasn't allowed to use the PM feature AND immediately got kicked out. More features are working for me now. I'm optomistic but cautious enough I'm holding off merging the "old" and "new" me.
Steve Keck Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 OK! That didn't last long. Now it's back to opening a new browser and trying several times just to log in. I wonder how much the GNP has suffered from lost productivity since the switch.
crazyjim Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 I just posted pics of a new build and copy/paste didn't work at all. I had to control v to paste into the forum.

A lot of the problems people are having here are due to their outdated browsers not being able to handle this site correctly. I say that because I have absolutely NO issues with this site. So obviously, if the site works for some but not for others, the problem is not the site.
mrmike Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I found that if I use X2 (Superscript) in the blue box above the reply box, right click and a small box will appear with "paste" in it, select paste and my copied link will appear.
Hypermung Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 When ever I try to post a pic it always comes thru as a thumbnail.... (very annoying)... Now it won't let me load any photo at all!.. It says 'Used 1.95MB of your 1.95MB global upload quota' ?... What the?

I am a wise guy..just like danno..but I am not photo illiterate...C'mon admit the software has issues...PLEASE ??? Harry if you using apple that is different than IBM clones...I found best results here with XP and IE8 IF using Vista or Windows 7 Chrome works best. I find it amusing that all the photo problems started with the new forum software..I really do not think everyone forgot how to post pictures...I noticed more guests on now than members..is that factual or am I imagining that?? I am patient but this is turning people off....look at your logs....NO I AM NOT COMPLAINING>>>MY POSTING HAS NOT STOPPED>>>FACTS SPEAK! This is posted on an OLD XP with IE8....Vista and IE9 don't work well here.... Edited August 7, 2011 by MIKE THE MANIAC
