chuckyr Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Gunther has a new truck model survey going. Generally his surveys are for Revell of Germany.
highway Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Give me a new Freightliner Coronado or a Freightliner Classic XL with a Series 60 Detroit and I'll be happy! Oh, and some modern trailers too!
The Modeling Hermit Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 We need some new trailers such as 53 foot vans, bottom dump trailers, grain haulers, and some new livestock trailers. I naturally want some new trucks, but they're a lot more enjoyable when there are trailers to go with them, and some people don't have the scratchbuilding skills to build unavailable trailers.
Jim B Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I had the same thought Jim. My guess would be T-2000?? http://www.truckpape...x?OHID=2760265 Tha's kind of what I was thinking, too. Either that or The Terminator.
Guest Johnny Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 T-1000? My son drove a T 1000 but it was a Pontiac!
BigBad Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Ah yes, Pontiac's version of the Chevette! You guys crack me up! Let's have that all time American road icon with all the bells and whistles! KENWORTH W900L please!
scummy Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Oh dear , i tried to vote but had access denied ? Oh well ya get that .
Kostas Parchas Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Allready voted, Just hope for new Peterbilts (389-386), maybe a Kenworth (W900L-T700) and of cource some 53ft trailers. IF someone at Italeri or Revell OG headquarters is hearing us..... Greetings, Kostas.
Guest Markus355 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 voted. a new, modern style lowboy would be nice.
BigBad Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'll go along with that. Especially if the Coronado is the new SD model. I could picture this with a lowboy Oh yeah, THAT one is nice! I had the old style in my head when I entered my vote, it didn't have a chance. Let's have a modern type lowboy too.
Hessel Hemstra Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Gunther has a new truck model survey going. Generally his surveys are for Revell of Germany. Well, that is partly true. Günther is a high quality model builder who wants to have some new models as well. He scratch builds a lot of his models and often wins prices at the 'On the Road' show in Jabbeke, Belgium. He transfers his polls to Revell and Italeri and the last time he did they came with the dump trailer which is partly based on a, by Günther, converted Emek model. The reissue of the MAN Formel 6 is also a fact of Günther's poll from a few years ago and let us mot forget, the Volvo VN was also one of the model which had a high responds in his poll. So... if you do this survey in a serious way maybe your wishes will come true. Hessel
mistermodel Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Lets see is something good comes of this.I voted for some contemperary stuff
george 53 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 OK, so i was off by a 1,000 but who cares, ya got my drift. Don't know JACK about big trucks, but I know a BEAUTIFULLY STYLED vehicle, if a truck or not, and THAT'S a BEAUTIFUL truck!!!! But it IS a T-2000 ??????
mackinac359 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I doubt the model companies will make a new kit of a truck that isn't produced anymore. The truck manufacturers want their current product to be represented and hint at that when licensing agreements are reached. "Is it new or vintage?" Product such as the: Kenworth T700 http://www.kenworth.com/2100_vir_t700.asp or Peterbilt 587 http://www.peterbilt.com/aero587.3.aspx .are prime examples. A model company could produce both kits - use the same frame rails, front springs, axles, engine, radiator, glass for each, then separate brand specific rear suspension, fuel tanks, fairings, cab, sleeper, hood, bumper, roof, interior, chrome, etc. Tim

Guest Markus355 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Am I the only one who thinks these aero styled trucks are hideous? I mean really, god awfully, unforgivably, beat the stylists with rubber hoses, ugly? Cause they are.

mackinac359 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Traditional style is my forte' but that doesn't mean a swoopy aero truck isn't desired. Soon that is all the truck builders will be building.. Tim
scale trucker Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) as long as we get a new truck kit who cares..the best new truck kit is the lonestar so why not a new pete or kw..don't forget the new paccar motor....or daf Edited August 8, 2011 by scale trucker
mackinac359 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Gordon, A new Pete or KW would be easier to license with the PACCAR MX engine.. no need for additional licensing from an engine maker. Tim
