Sam Cates Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 After my constant nagging, my 11 yo daughter finished her first kit, she went to a club meeting and begged for a kit, then decided it was too hard, so I nagged long enough that she finally built it. She had a Revell '99 Camaro but lost a few parts so I gave her the parts from my '02 Z28 kit. Then my developmentally delayed son (9 yo) said "I want one too!" Gave him a Street Fighter kit that I had robbed the wheels, tires and shifter from, and he went right to work. I think they both did pretty well for their firsts. Let em' (and me) know what you think!
kennb Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 They both did great jobs on these. very nice for each of them.

Adam deCoste Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 awesome builds!!! and metallica is my favorit band lol
Lunajammer Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Your kids should be proud. Those kits CAN be hard for kids but more importantly than how well they did is how their perseverance paid off. That's one of those little life lessons that the hobby can contribute to personal growth of the growing.
customsrus Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 nicely done. father and kids playing together:PRICELESS
Tony T Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Wow! Certainly both are great first builds!! Well done!!

charlie8575 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Very nice work on both of these. I think that your son especially is doing well with this is a positive sign. That could seriously be the best therapy for him and I encourage you to keep him in that direction. Keep it going, kids of Sam! We're all here to help you if you need it. Charlie Larkin
Qwit Pushin Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Well done! Keep up the good work! (You too, Dad).
mikemodeler Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Keep encouraging them to build and they will see the improvement in the quality of their builds. They did very well for their first time out and it is nice to see some kids interested in our hobby!
