Nick Winter Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Nick outdoor photo's to follow, and snowy photo's when in season
Chuck Most Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Really cool- there are about two dozen jeeps just like this one around my area.
Scalper Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I must say the plow looks real. love the license plate. love the weathering on the over size chain... looks great Nick. 20 years from now or sooner your models will be on every model magazine cover page.
gray07 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Looks great Nick, it looks like most jeeps driving around here.
Harry P. Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Very nice weathering/rusting. Nick, you are getting better and better all the time!
Nick Winter Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Thanks Guys, funny enough this was practice for Ford 1/2 ton that'll see a similar treatment (rust & plow) Nick
Nick Winter Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Outdoor photo's that are a better quality.
Nick Winter Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Nick Sorry for the picture overload, but I'm pretty proud of this one.
Foxer Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 If it didn't remind me that summer is half over and I'll be seeing these on the road again in a few months, I'd say I love it. But, I DO!
Kit Basher Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Great job! I really like the way the plow moves and operates.
mikemodeler Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Nice job there Nick, looks like a real vehicle. I remember seeing many of those back when I lived in the midwest, many of them sat all summer long and once October came around, they would be dragged out of the field and prepped for duty. Your skills continue to improve and impress.....keep them coming!
Nick Winter Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Thanks guys, the idea came from a Jeep Cj-7 I used to see everytime I went up north it sat next to a gas station from Spring to Fall, and In Winter I'd see it clearing snow from the station, now both are gone, the Gas Station and the Jeep, all that remains is a fenced off yard and some old tires (and I do mean old, some had whitewalls over 3" thick) Nick
Sixties Sam Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Very cool ,Nick! Great job on the weathering. It looks like veteran of many winters on salt covered roads. The rusted hole in the muffler is a great touch! Sam
RodneyBad Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Great looking Jeep and snow plow. Half cab looks great on it and really nice weathering.. WOW! what a Rust bucket tho, Those darn salted roads. Sure glad we don't do that in my parts..
crazyjim Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Looks like you did some magic there, Nick, and I hope you'll keep the cold weather up there with you. Should the rear drive shaft be on such a severe angle?
Nick Winter Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Rodney thanks, locally we've been trying to get away from salt, they've been using sand instead, but it's too little too late. Jim, probably not, it's from a '50 Chevy truck
