1320wayne Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Since there has been plenty of focus lately on Pro Mod builds and bodies being worked on I figured I'd showcase a few of the latest bodies that I have either just recently completed or are still working on. First is a 68 Mustang body just recently finished. This one is designed to use either a Top Fuel style wing or a Pro Stock spoiler. Next is a modern era Mustang body also designed to use either the Top Fuel style or Pro Stock wing. And then, just a bit more on the wild side is a 55-57 style T-bird body based on the similar design run by Wayne Torkelson.
1320wayne Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 And then two more bodies that I am currently working on. First there is this 41 Willys body that was one of my earlier designs a few years back only to see this popular body style go through some dramatic changes within the past couple of years. What's known today as the "shovel nose" Willys I went ahead and took one of the bodies from a few years ago and I'm in the process of making the neccessary changes to update it to current standards. The nose has been lengthened, dropped down in the front, the front grill area re-arched and the tops of the fenders re-shaped with a much higher bulge. And the other current project is a 70.5 Camaro body. There is still plenty of work to go on these bodies but they are really starting to take shape.
BKcustoms Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Nice work on those bodies! are you planning on casting any of them?

eviltwincustoms Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I really like that early model Stang and the Willys, they look like a lot of work went into them to get them more accurate.
Dragracer Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Wayne, the "new" '68 'Stang looks really nice, I've seen the 1st one you did (your "Jegs" car),I like this one a lot more, the '41 Willys looks awesome & the Camaro is coming along nice. Looks like I'll be getting a few bodies from Chris.
Randy D Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Hi Wayne, I recently dubbed Jeff as 'King of Bodywork' but I gotta say you are co-King!!! Randy

crowe-t Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Wayne, The 70.5 Camaro body looks great! I'd like one of those.
1320wayne Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 Thanks for all of the comments. If we can ever escape Summer down here in FL I might be able to get out into the work shop a bit more and get these bodies finished and started on more to follow.
Dragracer Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Ah Yes, the Fl. summers are really wonderful ain't they, hot, humid then it rains, cools down then the humidity comes back three times as bad, don't miss it a bit.But once summer leaves it starts to get to cold too quick, don't know how the fall/winter is in Daytona Beach, but in the Tampa area (lived about 50 miles north)they are getting just to cold, Az. is just right.

It just kills me to hear how people complain about the winters in Florida. It drops down to 55 degree's and everyone is pulling out their Long Johns and Heavy Winter coats! You can tell when someone has lived in a state so long they don't realize what cold really is. Same thing when I was living in Kansas and moved to Colorado for 8yrs. Everyone was complaining about it being cold, yet I was waiting for the temp to drop. Gotta love that Humidity, it makes everything seem colder and work that much harder to cool things down.
Dragracer Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 The problem is that just because the weather turns cooler (cold in Fl. ),the humidity doesn't go away, when I lived there I work 2nd shift at a truss plant 3:30 PM-11:30PM, and during the winter it got down to the low 60's (kidding, it got down to the upper 20's to the low 30's. I also had friends who thought just because we worked nights the humidity wasn't that bad, they were wrong. When I first moved here to Tucson, my sister took me up Mt. Lemmon, about 8,000', it was snowing & 32 degrees out, & I was standing there in a pair of jeans & a t-shirt & it wasn't cold, no humidty.
baddgass Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Lots of nice thing coming out of your shop wayne, like all the build you do. Keep it coming bro!
