Dr. Cranky Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Thanks for sharing these . . . they are great fodder for the imagination. Great stuff.
Jairus Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The first was the best and it went down hill for me from there. Skills and proficiency with PhotoShop aside, I have to ask... why? I suspect the artist gets a thrill from creating something that never was by creating a visual illusion over logic. Over at Motorburg we have a female from Germany who loves posting her crazy and similar ideas using a high powered modeling program. Most have wonderful application in the toy industry, but unfortunately demonstrate little understanding of the basic workings of the internal combustion engine.
Scale-Master Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I find it ironic how these renderings are disliked by some because "they aren't realistic". It's not like any plastic was harmed... I applaud the creativity even though some just don't "do it" for me. Ironically these types of designs are very similar to customized Hot Wheels I have seen due to the mixing of scales within a single subject.
Romell R Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I'm with Mark I liked em I think that all were very creative and well thought out. Some may not be to my taste but i can appreciate the work and time that went into making them , I only wish I had the photo shop skill to do this type of creating.
Greg Myers Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 After letting this thread run I too, was surprised at the mostly negative responses. It is what it is, Photoshop, but interesting at best. Thanks for looking.

JesseJames Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 (edited) I thought the orange Lambo pick-up wasn't all that bad! The front end and the color kinda remind me of a Volvo big rig,.. Maybe lowering the pick-up section a little more into the Lambo and smoothing out the lines and proportion, it could look great! Edited September 6, 2011 by JesseJames
Scale-Master Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Love the Breadvan, but I thought the Corvette was cooler back then than I do now...
scale trucker Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 i like all the show rods..some of those are way kool..

Mark, better look up the terms "Realistic" and "Logical" because the two terms are mutually exclusive and not what "I" infered with my post. The rest of the 'so called' negative posts were personal opinions I believe. Last I looked, everyone is allowed to voice theirs here unless the thread is locked.

Firstly, I am well aware of the meaning of those words, even though I did not use or imply "Logical" in my comment. C'mon Hot Wheels in mixed scales? Logical? I was actually referring to the responses within the linked The Coffin Corner thread, not ones here at MCM. But if you would like to infer anything I wrote as being directed at you, I have no control over that. I think just because timing was such I posted after you, you may have assumed I was directing my comment to you? One last thing, please explain how you possibly interpreted what I wrote as if I was intent on not allowing other's to voice their opinion? I guess there wasn't enough drama today...?
Jairus Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 No, you explained it clearly enough. I desire neither drama, nor debate. I was actually referring to the responses within the linked The Coffin Corner thread, not ones here at MCM.
Lunajammer Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Thanks for sharing these . . . they are great fodder for the imagination. Great stuff. "Oh, those wonderful awful cars!" - Conceivably spoken by my wonderful awful Aunt Helen.
SSNJim Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I thought the orange Lambo pick-up wasn't all that bad! The front end and the color kinda remind me of a Volvo big rig,.. Maybe lowering the pick-up section a little more into the Lambo and smoothing out the lines and proportion, it could look great! That was my favorite, too. I didn't realize it was a Lambo until you mentioned it. Either way, it's going into my "maybe someday" stash o'photos. I liked the Hummer/Indy Car one, too. It reminds me of the Raiders' Coach showrod.
