Nice topic. The key to determined if it is a model or not is to look at the wheels and tires. The sheen and scale of wheels and tires is the most difficult to replicate on a model.

I don't know, with the caliber of the great builders on this forum, that could be tough too.

I tend to look at the glass. Not too many models have straight distortion free glass, which to me is a dead giveaway whether it's a model or not.

I tend to look at the weight(or lack of)on the tires, and for little nuts and bolts on it to see IF they could be reproduced in scale.Last week, I had seen the picture before, so I KNEW it was a model.

I look for the Made in China imprinted letters!

I have a different approach.....I am a Photographic Addict.....I examine the Photo....Even photoshopping will leave telltales.....if you know what to look for....Harry is Very Good, but the picture will talk to me.

Another clue with the glass- very few modelers bother with the gaskets around the glass, and if they do, rarely get it to look right.
