Nick Notarangelo
You guys are cranking out some really nice Hudsons! Chuck, that pickup is going to be cool. I agree with harry, that almost looks natural for it.
wgflatliner
alright here's where i'm at: and engine in place: i need to finish plumbing up the rest of the engine stuff, like the throttle linkage into the firewall and also the fuel line from the fuel pump to the tank. soon after will be the front brake lines. Chuck Most
Began work plugging the hole I made with the bed from a '41 Chevy pickup.
Chuck Most
Well, no photo update, but the trim is removed from the pickup version. Think I'll call it the "Hudson Handyman". Unlike the green '52, which I'm pretty much making up as I go, I actually formulated a plan for the pickup- I'm building it as if Hudson had actually produced a pickup in '53 (or any other year the Step Down was produced). As a commercial vehicle, it would likely be available as a 'stripped down' version- very minimal trim, no hubcaps, silver-painted parts instead of chrome, plain blackwall tires with open steel wheels and no side skirts. Inside, there will be a plain bench seat, no radio, and only basic trim. And to seal the deal, I'm thinking of finishing the truck in dark gray primer. I know for a fact Ford would let you order a truck from the factory in primer, so you could paint it whatever color you wanted once you got it, and I'm sure other manufacurers did likewise. Besides, I think a dark gray primer would look good with the stripped-down motif of this "Hudson Handyman" I've dreamed up. Anyway- back to the bench! Chuck Most
Not sure. I was thinking of making some parts boxes with Hudson logos printed on them to fit in the back, or maybe a spare 308 7X Hudson engine in a crate. Guess I'll find out when I git there. samdiego
After some diversions, this is where I stand with mine, about 95% done I figure. I was able to find one Moon disc with enough bubble to clear the stock hubcaps. It's an old one that I foiled. The thruster pods were removed from the front fenders. I going to leave the garnish through the rocker panels like you see it. One chrome spear and the rest in body color. I still need to foil the side windows and may refoil the windshield. Chuck Most
Did a bit more on the pickup- removed the bumper guards and licence plate frames, got rid of the body trim, and removed the fender skirts.

250 Testa Rossa
I hope I can have my Hornet ready to build here pretty soon. I've been working on a high-quality resin kit of a 250 GTO, so it'll be a while. My Hornet will be painted as Marshall Teague's car.

Chuck Most
Lookin' nice, Mark! I'm just waiting on some BMF to show up, then I'll be able to finish up the green '52. Well, the body, anyhow.
wgflatliner
Some progress. Did the wood grain and finished the headliner, etc. I decided to do the hood a little different with the chrome down the center. All that's left is headlights, parking lights, battery and other small stuff I might not install like the hood props etc. Also gotta install trunk hinges as the body is not glued in place. Just some minor touch ups from there and it should be done!

wgflatliner
Gonna call this one done unless I end up putting stuff in the trunk, which I'm sure I will. I apologize for the quality of the pics. I will get more pictures from a real camera soon.
