Hey fellas.

There are many amazing builds here & I've been following a few. But mostly I've been lurking in the shadows feeling too nervous to post my humble offerings. I realise now that you are a friendly bunch of guys & very fair with your comments so I've plucked up courage for my first WIP.

I hasten to add that I've been away from modelling for a long time.........my, how things have changed :)

So here is my `41 Plymouth.

The body was sprayed with a rattle can & then polished. I then introduced myself to Bare-Metal Foil. This is amazing stuff (but you guys know that already ^_^ ) but it took me a while to get the hang of using it.

Your comments are most welcome.

Looks like you got the hang of the foil pretty quick and the paint looks really good!

Jeff took the words out of my mouth but I have to repeat anyway! :) I especially like the paint color!

Like the others, great color choice! It just fits that car! Great foil work too! B)

Thank you all for the kind words & encouragement.

To answer some questions;

The colour is Halfords Ford Highland green. I wanted a green coloured car, & to be honest this was a `best guess’ for a period `41 green.

I’m pleased you like it because it tells me that I made a fairly good guess.

Yup, I’m a first time foiler, I’ve seen it used so many times here I thought I’d give it a try. It’s wonderful stuff; it’ll be a permanent fixture in my tool box from now on.

As for the grill, well the chrome in my kit looks a little ropey so I fetched it off with oven cleaner & re-sprayed it with Alclad. A grey wash of oil paint was then applied & sealed with Klear.

I intend to add a little light weathering to the body. I don't want to over do it so a subtle dusting with some chalks will sufice.

I appreciate your time spent with me on this thread.
