Sam Cates Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) I gave up on the paint with this combo, hit it five different times and I just can't keep the dust out for some reason but it turned out better than I expected. The pickup is an AMT '60 Custom Fleetside with parts box wheels. Detailed the 235 and wood bed floor, added hitch from the Midget kit. Painted the midget and trailer to match the truck, added wiring to the Offy engine, custom tail lights, safety chains light harness and moon discs on the trailer. krazyglu Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Whoa that thing is awesome...I love the matching paint scheme. I like all the little touches you added and I cant see any dust from here. Great job
Crazy Ed Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Well done on both. Makes my mind wander back to the mid 60's in SoCal. when that Pair would be seen on Saturday headed to Ascot Raceway from just about any point of the compass. Well done Sam.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 This is one of the best duos I've seen in a while. Great job. Love it. Congrats.
bbowser Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Very cool. Great color scheme, clean build. I like it a lot
Erik Smith Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) Nice combo! I like the additional touches on the trailer - it's those little details that add realism to a model. Edited November 13, 2011 by Coyotehybrids
Kris Morgan Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Very well done. the wood bed is a real nice touch.
bsoder Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 WOW...that is just a beautiful pair!!...welll done B)
Sam Cates Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks guys, I guess the dust isn't too visible in photos, mostly on the left side of the truck between the door and bed anyway. Hoping to build a couple more midgets, maybe a filthy post race mud caked car?
surfjunke Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I agree with the others, very nice clean job on a great Pair. Very cool.
mikemodeler Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Looks nice and clean, must be on the way to the first race of the season! Good choice on the colors and the details make it look real.
Sam Cates Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Thanks guys, it was my first attempt with my new airbrush.
