crazyjim Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Mornin' folks. Kind of early for me and it's because we'll be leaving shortly for my next surgery. My foot/ankle/lower leg have been swollen for several months and the VA has finally decided to do something. If I understand it correctly, veins have valves in them sometimes they get out of sync and and cause problems. The veins in my right leg have 8-10 second delays. The plan is stick wires down the veins at the thigh, run them all the way down to my foot, and then start shocking them into proper sync as the wire is pulled back out. Supposed to be under for a couple of hours. I'll ry to check in later today but I'm not sure how I'll be feeling.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Good luck today, buddy, and hope you recover pronto. Our best wishes go out to you today.

crazyjim Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 Thank you all. What a day. We were at the hospital by 7:30am; got gowned up; IV in. Time is going by. At 11:30 a nurse came and told us the surgery was canceled because the doctor was called into emergency surgery. Now we have to re-schedule and the guy only does surgery on Wednesday's and Thursday's. We're waiting for the doctor's office to call with the new date/time. Very frustrating.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday he has to play golf? Why did I study physics and not medicine...
Dr. Cranky Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Yeah, they do that all the time. And next week is Thanksgiving already. Hang in there, Jim.
crazyjim Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 One time waited for over 2 hours for a doctor's office visit. I had to take vacation time from work for the appointment. I was so upset that I sent a bill to the doctor for my time. He didn't pay it, but I didn't charged my co-pay for the next few visits. Any time I go to the VA for checkups, lab work, surgery, x-rays, etc. the appointment is right on time. I don't understand why private doctors are always late.
Junkman Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I don't understand why private doctors are always late. I explain it to you: - 9 puts for seven greens this morning. - There were free drinks after the lunch in the club. - The new apprentice nurse had to be -errr- taken care of. - A complaint had to be dictated to the secretary regarding the long delivery times of new Rolls Royces. - The secretary who took the dictate had to be -errr- taken care of. - This called for another round of liquid refreshments from the office bar. And whooshbonk, it was 3pm...
crazyjim Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 When I contacted for the re-schedule, I have to ask about those excuses.

Junkman Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 When I contacted for the re-schedule, I have to ask about those excuses. Yeah, that'll get you into the OT straight away.
Lunajammer Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 One morning I was so miserable I waited outside the walk-in clinic until they opened at 7am. They let me in and did processing. I was the first one there, THE FIRST ONE and I had to wait a half hour for the doctor. It's good to be the doctor.
ffreak Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 My son waited in a er lobby tonight for 3 hrs and finally got up and walked out and came home. He's gonna try another one tomorrow !!
