Terry Jessee Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 This is a Modelhaus '81 Chevy Suburban that I've been converting to a 4X4. I was digging through some boxes looking for wheels, and tripped over this. It's out in front again. This is such a cool project. I have tons of little detail things for this--running boards, roof rack, all kinds of cool add-ons. Have to quit looking in boxes and get back to business. Terry
martinfan5 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Wow I remember that one, kinda, I am looking forward to seeing what you do with this
Greg Pugh Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 And what's the story with the Forty Sedan? Looks awfully good from this view!
Terry Jessee Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Looks about like this. I've got the interior painted and "carpeted," and am working on the engine compartment now. This is inspired by Bob McCoy's '40 sedan that was in all the magazines in the late '50s. It's not an exact replica, though. Terry
Chuck Most Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Didn't even know there was resin of this Suburban body style. My eye keeps getting drawn to that bright green '59/60 (?) Chevy wagon.
Joe Handley Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I thought that '40 looked kinda familiar, has that Suburban seen print at one time, it also looks kinda familiar........
Nick Notarangelo Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 why box diving can be fun sometimes, plus the ocational"oh hey I forgot about this"
Greg Pugh Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Didn't even know there was resin of this Suburban body style. My eye keeps getting drawn to that bright green '59/60 (?) Chevy wagon. '60. You can tell by the flat wings. Looks about like this. I've got the interior painted and "carpeted," and am working on the engine compartment now. Danno Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 The wagon is a '60. Quite rare these days, actually. Sad that I missed the Suburban when it was in production; I'd like to see that one back again.
mikemodeler Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) The wagon is a '60. Quite rare these days, actually. Sad that I missed the Suburban when it was in production; I'd like to see that one back again. Check out the Modelhaus, It is available again, $92.00 for the whole kit! I plan on getting one and doing a 4x4 conversion like Terry. Edited November 22, 2011 by mikemodeler
Eshaver Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Provided the Suburban does become available again, what is needed to complete it and how much ? Ed Shaver
