Chuck Most Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I think the only "rule", in our styrene word, is that there are no rules. Build whatever you want! Then there is a rule.
Joe Handley Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I think the only "rule", in our styrene word, is that there are no rules. Build whatever you want! There are no rules? Well, if those are the rules...........
Joe Handley Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Joe you really ought to restart that and build it as a Herse. Leave it in the Delivery style but add a Sun roof! I've already got a hearse project going actually
Modelmartin Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Did someone say weird? did someone say backwards? The Edsel was shortened and uses a Fujimi 911 Speedster tonneau combined with Revell Porsche 928 window louvers behind them. That is the Edsel dash in the cockpit. Since it was an Edsel Corsair I used a 1/32 Corsair radial engine mounted midships. This was a resin copy of an old Studebaker promo. It is also shortened but also chopped. It uses a Heller Renault F1 chassis and a Pontiac Fiero interior and wheels. The headlights are upside down 37 Ford. The rear tires are AMT pro/street. This one won a Klingon Kruiser award at GSLIMCC in the 90s. Both of these were real fun to do. I was contemplating doing a third backwards car from a Tucker but never got around to it. Best to let this particular weirdness die a natural death. How about them apples?
Chuck Most Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I remember that one Andy.... and the correction in SAE because it was mis credited in the previous issue.
Scott Colmer Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 (edited) I remember those too, Andy. Awesome creativity. That 1:1 Citron is really neat. I look forward to seeing what you come up with, Chuck. A friend of mine did this: Hosted on Fotki Scott Edited November 27, 2011 by Scott Colmer
Chuck Most Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Pretty sweet! What are those wheels from?
Austin T Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 You guys have some great ideas,I'm glad I posted this tread.
Danno Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Actually, I pretty much like Darin's 2012 Nova!
Chuck Most Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I like my idea for a 2012 Scout better! No pics, because it's still nowhere near started.
Wayne Buck Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 What a GREAT thread! Some really cool stuff here!!! Shortly after meeting a kid (who ended becoming my best friend to this day... we're both car nuts and mechanics) in 7th grade study hall, we began drawing pictures one day and passing them back and forth to try and make each other laugh. One day, I drew up a completely BONE STOCK model T with a HUGE, Blown big block Chevy with a guy sitting in the car "pouring on the coals"... I drew the spokes in the stock back wheels being completely ripped apart, twisted, pieces flying everywhere and he was laughing so hard he was in tears. So, fast forward about 15 years later... I thought back on it and decided to build a model of what was depicted in the picture. I started on it about a year or so ago and had to put it aside to figure out a few "obstacles" I began to encounter while building. I really gotta get back on this one though, now that I'm looking at it again. LOL
Scott Colmer Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) Hey Chuck, I checked with Tim Nolan, Builder of the Green Lincoln on the source of the rims and tires. Just a little info... Scott Those resin rims/tires were from an old belly tanker kit that I believe came from the Model Car Garage, but i wouldn't swear to it! I've had them probably 20 yrs. or more!!! The Modeling Hermit Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I've been known to get carried away once or twice. Here's a 53 Corvette that got modified a little. I have no idea what was going through my brain, but shortly after this I was certified totally insane. This was a combination of the aforementioned 53 Vette, 53 Studebaker custom engine, and parts box tires/wheels. The color was competition orange with a clear pearl overspray. One that I thought of, but never built, was a 66 Cadillac hearse combined with a monster truck chassis, and using the skeleton from custom rod kit, that slips my memory at the moment. I was going to call it Deadfoot. I'm hoping somebody actually does this sometime.
Joe Handley Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Hey Doug, I'm working on that with RC truck I posted a couple weeks back. It's being built from spare, second hand, and recycled parts and will be wearing an early 60's hearse body that the manufacturer calls The Grave Robber
