Chuck Most Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Started with the Revell COPO kit, then slapped on three Rallys and a Cragar, and stuffed in an inline six from a Trumpeter Nova.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Another winner, Chuck. Love the cracked glass and that engine bay is a work of art.
scalenut Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) nice weathering ! I'm guessing a faded klu klux emblem on the hood ?. defiantly outside the box ! Edited November 28, 2011 by scalenut
disabled modeler Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 That is pretty cool Chuck...I like it.
mikemodeler Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Nice job Chuck, great weathering ! That car must be from Arid-zona as there is no body rot but plenty of faded paint and surface rust. I need to try weathering a model some day- beats the heck out of polishing a paint job!
mannyclub Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 That is awesome Chuck! Love the wheels and the 6 cyl. Rust is very cool. would be a car I would want to find and fix up. Manny
Flatearthman Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 freaking awsome and just way too cool, old school build with what we had way back when. "spare change" thumbs up!!!
Moparkid13 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 great job! what is the emblem on the hood?
Skydime Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Chuck, I've got to say you have done an excellent job on this one. I especially like the oiled down straight 6. I do have to say the Cragar wheel does look kinda goofy sticking out like that. But that isn't an insult because I know that mismatched was what you were going for with it. BTW, since everyone is asking, is that the under hood bracing fade showing on the hood? Edited November 29, 2011 by Skydime
Chuck Most Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 BTW, since everyone is asking, is that the under hood bracing fade showing on the hood? Yep- insulation underneath is gone, paint's burned off, and so on.
Wayne Buck Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 VERY COOL build, Chuck! I think the Cragar wheel is a nice touch! Reminds me of my old '84 Trans Am that's sitting on the side of my driveway right now. It was sitting on four stockers with some pretty old, dry-rotted tires and one went flat a couple of months ago, so now it sits on 3 stock wheels and one nice, shiny Weld Pro-Star. The really funny and ironic thing is: The Weld wheel is on the left front! EXCELLENT job with the weathering, and the cracked windshield looks Perfect!! The 6-banger looks GREAT as well. All around, VERY nice build... I love it!!
57peppershaker Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Fantastic ! How did you get the paint effect ?
Guest Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Great weathering job as usual Chuck! Someday, I gotta get you to teach me how to do work like that. The six banger is a perfect touch!
David G. Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Excellent work! Great weathering and I love the 250! David G.
surfjunke Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Great build & great weathering. The 1 Cragar really makes the car & love the heavily weathered 6.
Chuck Most Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Thanks folks. As far as the weathering, I just used the good old salt technique.
