geetee66 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I confess...I adore 59 Chevy's. This was an epic BMF job! It's a Revell Lowrider kit. I added some engine details and some additional exterior stuff. I used a PE set from MCG Here's the interior: The engine: I used online source material to get some of the details, as there are very few of these in my country. There are all sorts of tiny details that only I know about on this model (I bet that rings true, eh guys?) Here's a shot that shows something that most people don't see: Thanks for looking
Scalper Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 That is some great BMF work . Interior looks killer.
thatz4u Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 you sure you didn't growup in a GM Chevrolet plant? great work
Darbo Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Great BMF work on that kit , i reckon you must have used a full sheet to cover that build!
MrObsessive Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I'm not much into lowriders but WOW! That is a very nice '59! Did you use bead wire (or other type of wire) for the separation of the tail-light lenses? The chrome on those look fantastic! Much better than BMF!
geetee66 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I'm not much into lowriders but WOW! That is a very nice '59! Did you use bead wire (or other type of wire) for the separation of the tail-light lenses? The chrome on those look fantastic! Much better than BMF! Thanks, Bill. I used fuse wire. I don't know if all 59's had lens separators, but the photos I found on Google showed them.
MrObsessive Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Very clever and realistic! Every '59 Impala I've ever seen had the chrome separators. Not sure about the lesser models but I believe they did as well.
Joker Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Thanks, Bill. I used fuse wire. I don't know if all 59's had lens separators, but the photos I found on Google showed them. That's called treating each part as a model.
Foxer Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I have a '59 still waiting for a BMF finishing. I congratulate you and well done!
Dr. Cranky Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Another beauty, and that's a wonderful interior.
Danno Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Extraordinary! Most excellent! Love the taillights; you're right ~ few model builders have bothered with that little detail. Your treatment is very convincing. Also, I'm in awe of the BMF work on your interior!! Again, few modelers have tackled all the fine chrome strips and buttons! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Guest Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 That is one fine '59! This is the kind of lowrider that I really like! Well done Guy!
