highway Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Well the motorcycle and the wheelchair beat the chopper....$$ wins votes and Jesse is a Biker....FTW as Indian Larry said ForeEver Two Wheels........RIP I think you'd better watch the replay Mike, the "wheelchair" came in THIRD!!!
Chuck Most Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 They should have had the 'road trip' portion like they had on the old Biker Buildoff series- pretty sure Jesse's bike would have nailed that part.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I think you'd better watch the replay Mike, the "wheelchair" came in THIRD!!! I couldn't believe Jr. came in first. I knew it would be Jesse, I didn't vote for him because of how arrogant he is.
RodneyBad Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I haven't watched the Out come yet but Chuck is right, there should have been a Road Trip portion. That's what I was waiting to see..
LDO Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 I was really surprised when my 64 year old mom told me she voted Her vote was for Jesse James, BTW.
Joe Handley Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Lol, I can't see that Decepticon looking thing doing well for any length of time, electric power or not and I'd be afraid to ride Jr's for fear of CO poisoning plus I think I've seen UPS trucks with fewer rivets than that seat has. Not sure if the Jesse James bike would be all that comfortable to ride for a long distance, but I've got enough "padding" to counter some of that. Edited December 7, 2011 by Joe Handley
LDO Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 Yeah, Jesse seems to like a weird riding position for his own bikes.
RodneyBad Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Yeah, Jesse seems to like a weird riding position for his own bikes. Like OCC bikes look anymore comfortable?? Not! None of them look like a Comfortable riding position. I'll rather go by me another Honda Valkyrie or get me a Honda Rune, or for a chopper, the Honda Fury.. Yaaaa, I do like Hondas.. Edited December 7, 2011 by RodneyBad
Chuck Most Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 It's not the riding position that hurts. It's trying to stand up straight after a long ride that is uncomfortable.
Lownslow Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 this was the stupidest build off of all time, i thought all 3 bikes sucked Jesses was with the exeption of the stainless was basically the same generic stuff hes done before. Jrs bike was stupid, did it have to be that big? the pipes through the tank were cool tho. Sr wasnt even trying i basically wrote occ off the build off the minute they said electric he hardly touched his watchamacallit compared to JR and JJ.
MikeMc Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I think you'd better watch the replay Mike, the "wheelchair" came in THIRD!!! It was sooooobad I pharted
ranma Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Really? I would rather see a classic car taken from the junkyard and be restored and auctioned off than paul sr/jr or the screw up J.J! desert car kings (glue bomb restored)
Dr. Cranky Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I think Hugh King, the master mind behind all those early shows, was pretty good at making episodes entertaining, now it's just a Soap Opera, but I am worried about Senior, he's looking a little gaunt.
MikeMc Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Yeah, Jesse seems to like a weird riding position for his own bikes. My chopper is very similiar to jesses bike....i love that position....looks funny, but you can ride for hours
mcandela Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 It was funny to look at all 3 bikes together, It looked like 2 1/24 scale cars next to Jr's 1/12 scale car. All 3 guys attitudes = Pure television!!
Guest Johnny Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 My chopper is very similiar to jesses bike....i love that position....looks funny, but you can ride for hours Have a friend here that has a bike built by Jesse. I took it out once and after about two blocks I was ready to get off the dang thing! The riding position was killing my back!
aarondupont Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Hi all: I got to jump in here. I've always admired Jesse James. Until his dumb move when married to Sandra Bullak. But he has a history of bad relationships. But that aside, I watched the build off show. Sr's contraption was slick! But not a bike in MY opinion. Great build and condept. Jr's bike was outstanding! Great concept. Great craftsmanship. I voted for Jr. BUT... if I could own any of the bikes, it would be Jesse's. It is a rider! I love the old chopper style. What gets lost is the majority of the bikes that Jr and Sr build are for show. If you watched Jesse's program, he built bikes for people to ride. Just my opinion. Aaron Dupont
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Well here's my two cents. Its interesting I haven't watched the show for a while since it turned into a bad reality show. Don't care to watch that garbage. In fact I taped it so I could fast forward through baloney. I just fast forwarded through JJ . Too much profanity and talk how he was so great but limited to how he was doing the bike itself. Don't know what Sr was thinking. When I saw the contraption I know there was no chance for it to win. Took third only because there were only 3 places. Paul Jr's was what I expect from a theme bike its art. Not unlike some of the very high dollar cars that win the Ridler award but not always practical. There is more form than function involved. After seeing the other two contenders it was obvious that Jr was going to win. Jesse James. I was not impressed with his profanity - his script was was easy bleep - bleep. Second he didn't recognize the audience he was building for. Yeah a group of hardcore bikers would have been more impressed with his over Paul Jr. however this was a vote open to wide audience that cared more about form than function. His bike needed more flash to win. If he had built something wild but more practical than Jrs he would have had a chance. bobthehobbyguy

The riding position was killing my back! Was it built to your friends size? jesse will add and subtract from any design to make it fit the rider..My chopper frame is a Day tech frame...with it set up for a rider with a 35" inseam....pure coincidence, but it fits me like a glove. I sold my FLHR road king as my back was hurting...I rode the chopper 250 miles the first day and no back troubles. The fit of the bars, pegs, and seat position and height all count...On this build jesse had tall risers..looked to be 8 " at least. What surprised me was no jockey shift...this was built to ride fast and with a 131" motor...its gotta haul. Edited December 7, 2011 by MikeMc

But jesse has always been hard core...and profane.
Craig Irwin Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I wouldn't give a nickel for an OCC bike if I had to actually ride it. But I'm a bagger type of guy anyway.
mikemodeler Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Jesse's bike was built to ride, Jr's bike was built for the show and I don't know what Sr's "bike" was built for! Unlike the original "Biker Build Off" shows, this one was scripted for TV and was not about building bikes. The American Chopper series brought the Teutels' fame and fortune but it appears to also have divided a family, mostly over money. I wouldn't worry about them unless they haven't saved their money because they look to be doing okay. I always wondered how Sandra Bullock and Jesse James made it as long as they did because that was a marriage doomed to fail from the start. He might be a great fabricator but I have my doubts about his morals. I remember his early shows where he went out a got a new tattoo and his first wife was pissed because she needed money for the household. That could have been scripted but I think the point was to show Jesse was his own man and he did what HE wanted. Really disappointed in the show, thank goodness I had it on DVR so I could fast forward through the parts I didn't want to see.
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 The build off I would like to see would be Paul Jr, Arlen Ness and Chip Foose. You would see some really nice bikes out of that. The bikes would speak for themselves and wouldn't need the drama and the childishness that this last buildoff had. Arlen has built some really nice bikes and I know Chip hasn't built many but whatever he would come up would be cool. bobthehobbyguy
Matt T. Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I didn't watch the show, but that Jesse James chop is cool. Nice, restrained design there. I liked Indian Larry too, and Billy Lane built nice bikes a few years ago when he was winning his build-offs on DISC.
Longbox55 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I voted for Jesse's bike, as I felt it was was in the spirit of what a bike buildoff should be, a motorcycle. It's a clean, understated design, not a gaudy "look. I'm a motocycle trying to be an airplane" like Paulies, or whatever that thing Seniors guys built.
