Psychographic Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) A new driving suit. I still need to outline the flames on the helmet. Plus a little advertising for the driver, Supersonicus Idioticus. All done. Edited January 12, 2012 by Psychographic
mrm Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Like it did not look cool enough in bare plastic, you had to add paint too? Can't wait to see this thing finished. By far my favorite project on here.
Psychographic Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 The paint is really turning this thing around, isn't it? I have been busy painting, and not being a very organized person, tthe parts groups are getting confusing. Front suspension here, rear suspension there, parts for alclad here, parts to be aluminum there. I just know I'm going to lose something! Supersonicus Idioticus ( a name stolen from the Roadrunner cartoon and used by a friend when he raced Micro Sprints) is done. The visor is cut from a nail polish blister pack and held in place with two pins. He fits perfect, doesn't he?

Ira Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Wheels and tires. Round one of paint. Great Tires Man!!!
Psychographic Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) Great Tires Man!!! Thank you sir. Another day of painting. I just cleared the frame and the parts to be done in Alclad. What good is a post without a pic or two. The front suspension pieces. The rear suspension pieces. Edited January 13, 2012 by Psychographic
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Very nice. Great job on the figure. Like the paint. Bobthehobbyguy
Psychographic Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 I added a little motion blur to the lettering on the tires. It's hard to get a clear pic of it.
iBorg Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I stumbled onto this.....really glad I did. The tires are inspiring. I've wanted to do something (show cartoon motion) like this and have always stopped on the tires.....Now I have a glue how to do them.... I hope you throw some mud on this one. I'll be watching.

I have a tutorial on another site showing how I make tires. I don't know if links to other model sites is allowed. As for the mud, it is in the plans, but also has me very scared, the model is coming along really well, I would hate to ruin it by screwing up the "dirtying it up" process. I guess it's time to research and practice. I'm still amazed at what some paint can do. This picture shows the idea of using the lettering on the tire to convey movement. After doing this set, I think I know how to improve on it. (I do have a glitch to fix, the hose on the AB caught, creating that blob of yellow where it should be fading to black,)
mrm Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Beyond cool............that is all I can say........... .....ohhhh..and what about that wild looking thing in the background that looks like a primered modern interpretation of the a-la cart

OK, so I got a little adventurous. Muddy tires. Edited January 14, 2012 by Psychographic
Modellpularn Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Wow, it's coming along great! I like the wheel up in the air, and the wild look in the driver's eyes. Way cool!!
Art Laski Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Incredibly fun build and mind-blowing execution. Supersonicus has arms like Danny Lasoski!
Psychographic Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 My Alclad arrived Saturday so the bumpers and rubrails are done. I started painting the body parts and wings. The white is an enamel from Ace Hardare, the orange is One Shot lettering enamel. The first round of color.
