bbowser Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Monogram curbside kit, only one I can afford of a Chaparral. Kit went together easily, had some issues with the door roundels. Several shots of Solvaset almost did the trick, but not as nice as I'd like. I love these cars, competing with Ford GTs, McLarens, Porsches, and Ferraris back in the Can-Am series. Comments welcome. Happy Holidays to everyone!
george 53 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Builds into a NICE lookin model, that's for sure. You did a VERY nice job on it. The Chapparal Coupes we one of my FAVORITE Can-Am Racers.
MonoPed Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Nice! I have one of those buried in the pile along with the Porsche 904 and Ferrari 275p. Fun little kits!
Crazy Ed Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) Bruce, Nice Clean job on that 2D. FWIW the 2D's didn't run in the CanAm. They ran at Daytona both in '66 and '67 and in '66 only at Sebring, Nurburgring and Le Mans. Edited December 17, 2011 by Crazy Ed
bbowser Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks for the correction, Ed. It was a long time ago !
martinfan5 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Very nice, I like it, I like the Chaparral 2D, but not when I am racing one in GT5 , I am not using one
Crazy Ed Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks for the correction, Ed. It was a long time ago ! No Problem, but it wasn't THAT long ago Oh and as the door decal just cut it at the seam. remember the doors were Gullwing style and opened where the decal crosses the seam.

I did that, it was the door handle moldings that didn't want to lay down. There's a couple of wrinkles that don't show in the photos. 40 years ago sure seems like a long time
