Mr. Moparman Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) I was just watching the new Season i got for Christmas. Season Five: Episode 18 "Coy VS Vince". What's the deal? Why no Bo and Luke? It appears that half the season has these characters in it? Can somebody explain? Edited December 26, 2011 by Mr. Moparman
SuperStockAndy Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 There was a time where they were replaced by "cousins". I think.
ffreak Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Wasn't that the time period when they were negotiating a new contract or something like that and weren't on the show ??
Nick Winter Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Dispute with Warner Bros. there was a time a few times when thee same happened to Sonny Shroyer, and Ben Jones. Nick
Joe Handley Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Yup, think it happened with James West too, he was replaced for several episodes by one of the Darin's from BeWitched.
Nick Winter Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 and all this time I thought Roscoe was at the Police academy in Atlanta learning new techniques
MoparWoman Jamie Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 To be honest the best stunt work was done in Season 5 of the Dukes of Hazzard. But alittle fact, did you know that the scripts was already typed up for the characters Bo & Luke Duke? Yep. They just cross out the names was all an wrote in "Coy & Vance" duke was all. Coy above Bo's, Vance's above Luke's. They wouldn't let the two new guys Chris or Bryon do like Tom an John did though. They had them read from the script an say word for word I do belive. With John an Tom, they could take and inpervise the lines an twist them to make them work. WB wouldn't let C&V do this though. That's why the episodes seem abit strange for. Now if John an Tom did this.. the series would have looked like what happen in season 5 though. Bo an Luke walked off the set due to royalty issues from WB not giving them enough doe ray me on the Dukes of Hazzard items that WB was selling back then. If you watch the other season's an notice Rosco was missing, or Cooter or characters going missing was due to issues from WB also an the cast members not agreeing on things an working things out. But Season 5 was the odd season though for sure for the Dukes of Hazzard. and all this time I thought Roscoe was at the Police academy in Atlanta learning new techniques Nea, they are still trying to put the Police academy back together after his last visit! LOL
Nick Winter Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Nea, they are still trying to put the Police academy back together after his last visit! LOL Was gonna say "and there still trying to put it back together, Nick
martinfan5 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 As Danno might say, OMGNANDOH thread , it was like that through out the series run really
Rob Hall Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I think that was the season I quit watching...I was 12, was getting too old for it.
Joe Handley Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Was gonna say "and there still trying to put it back together, Nick They probably had to start over from scratch As Danno might say, OMGNANDOH thread , it was like that through out the series run really Hope he doesn't go to see the Muppet Movie then, saw parts of Hazzard in it
MoparWoman Jamie Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I disagree Jim. The season five episodes had rediculous stunts, such as jumping the car over farm houses and such. The effects were under par as well since anyone with half a brain could tell that a toy car was being used for those over-the-top stunts. I didn't say all the stunts was the best... now did I? lol. I only said season 5 mostly had the best stunts in. I did not mean to include the miniature stuff though as I agree with you on that part.
martinfan5 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I think its safe to say that most DOH fans do not like season 5, to me it was more chessier then normal, IIRC, I did not watch most of season 5
MoparWoman Jamie Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Maybe not, but your first sentence "To be honest the best stuntwork was in season 5..." was a general enough blanket statement to make it look like that's what you said. Was there not real car stunts being done in Season 5? yes, that's is where my answer came for. Look at all the other season's before Season 5 stunt work an you will see Season 5 had some of the best done in it. But to clear things up though politely, I was not answering for the miniature stuff at all. But I do understand what you mean by my first sentence though in my original reply in this thread.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Also just for the record, Did you all know that Chris Myer "Vance Duke" past away afew months back.. this info is for any Dukes fans on here that likes Season 5 (I like it here an there).
Chuck Most Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 This is where the show "jumped the shark". I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Happy Days. Speaking of- anybody remember that episode where Fonzie said "Heeeeeeeyyyyyyy"? Awesome.
Mr. Moparman Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 Okkkk guys! I think I found my answer. Coy and Vance replaced Bo and Luke for royalty/salary reasons. And all this time I thought they went to the NASCAR circut!
