Nick Winter Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Just a quickie (3 months I think). Ended up going through 3 complete sets of tire decals, so I know tire decals aren't my strong suit. The flathead is from the AMT '49 Merc, with the Offy and Stromberg parts I thought it'd be better in this one than the Small Block Chevy. Anyway, it's not perfect, not super-detailed but I like it. tjones87 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Looks great...hoping to have mine finished tonight and posted up...
Harry P. Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Nice job, Nick! I like the "old school" look of it.
Rob Z Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Looks really nice Nick... I really like the wrinkle finish you have on the intake, heads and exhaust... Great job...
Art Anderson Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Except, in the US, NO Model A Fords were titled as 1932's. The 1932 Ford came in two designations: Model B, which was the 4cyl car, and Model 18, which was the V8. Minor techicality, I know. Art
Nick Winter Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Thanks Everyone. Art, that better didn't realize how little my pictures showed the difference in color, it's actually green and black. Edited December 31, 2011 by Nick Winter
oldscool Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I like this one. You have shown that the old kit can still look good without too much work. I'll bet that thing would sound great with the straight pipes. gus
Erik Smith Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Nice, classy classic! I like the wide whites, wheels and the flathead - nice work.
RodneyBad Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Looks Great Nick. I was surprised ya built a Hotrod too.
mrm Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 At first I was - COOL GREEN...then I went NO< IT"S BLACK and then I saw the other picture with the comment and realized it's both. Really cool build
W-409 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 This is very cool. I like the Old School look on it, and must say, that this might be the best model, I've seen from your bench. It's so nice. That engine detailing looks very good, but especially I like that overall look, and paintjob. Wheel and tire combo is great too.
crazyjim Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Looks excellent, Nick. Way to go. SHINY :) RULES!
rmvw guy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I like this a LOT! The Flathead engine is what makes IT for me. Should have been offered in this kit. That amt Merc. engine is still a good tool and you helped it with the added speed parts. I'm a fan of the wide whites also definitely "Old School". The paint is nice and the Rod & Custom mags knock it out of the park. Nice job!
Nick Winter Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks everyone, I to really like what I managed to achieve, just took my time. Nick Rodney, the next couple won't be Rod's
trogdor Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 You've come a long way in a short time. Looks very nice.
Jantrix Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Nick that looks top notch! And dont worry I don't think ANYONE is good at those tire decals. The flattie looks perfect.
Nick Winter Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Glad to hear I'm not the only one, hehe. Thanks everyone. Nick
