BKcustoms Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Is there a kit of a 60 rambler stationwagon? I am thinking about building the 2008 Ridler award winner "Ferrambo"
Casey Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 No kit available. I'm not even sure if anyone casts that body in resin, either.
BKcustoms Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Thats what I thought, I guess I'll hack up a 55 chevy nomad since it has almost the same shape.
Green Duster Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 What year is the old Johan Rambler wagon? Has to be close around that year.
Casey Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 '59, but the bodystyles aren't really that close to be honest.
Joe Handley Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 What about that Rumbler snapper from AMT?
Junkman Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Well, there are two Rambler Wagons for 1960. The Rambler Cross Country Wagon, which is very similar to the Jo-Han '59, and the Rambler American Wagon, which indeed has slight Nomad overtones if you stretch your imagination towards bursting point.
BKcustoms Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Heres a link to some pics of ferrambo and it is a rambler american wagon. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/01/29/car-feature-ultimate-misfit-the-ferrambo.aspx
Guest Johnny Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm sorry but it is a shame that they ruined that nice looking little Nash Rambler like that!
Art Anderson Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm sorry but it is a shame that they ruined that nice looking little Nash Rambler like that! Well, you must remember, it was hard to get that thing "out of second gear!"
Eshaver Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 P- M Chuck Most . he did a panel truck version of the Rambler American as a Pro street car . I forget who does that body in resin . The seats can be sourced from an A M T 1925 Ford Model T kit . Ed Shaver
Guest Johnny Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Well, you must remember, it was hard to get that thing "out of second gear!" Beep Beep!!!
Sixties Sam Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Beep Beep!!! I thought I was the only one old enough to remember that song! Sam
Kit Basher Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I thought I was the only one old enough to remember that song! Sam Nope. "I'll show him that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn!"
Guest Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) "Beep beep, his horn went beep beep beep." I'm plenty old enough to remember it as well, along with "Hot Rod Lincoln" by Commander Cody and The Lost Airmen. Edited January 21, 2012 by midnightprowler
Junkman Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Ride on, Josephine. Well, Josephine drivin' a hot rod Ford Twin carburator will eat up the road Twin exhaust stickin' out the rear Somethin' that will really take away from here... Have we now derailed the thread far enough? What about a '60 Rambler American kit? Does any resin caster make one?
BKcustoms Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) Well I started converting a Nomad into Ferrambo, here is where I'm at now. (Sorry for the blurry pics, the camera is dead so I had to take them with my Ipod) Edited January 22, 2012 by BKcustoms
Lunajammer Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I know you'll find a way BK. Be sure to keep us posted.
Drago Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Hi. I don´t know why I like so much this car Please, take a look at this: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=24344 I hope you like and feel free to ask!!! Edited February 5, 2012 by Drago
Hoosierfarmboy Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 This is one fantastic project. The 1:1 vehicle is outasite ! Enjoyed the build fotos - saved them all. Sometime ago I bought a "Hotwheels" style model of a 60 Rambler wagon. It has white on bronze paint and little Crager style wheels. However there is no name on the chassis plate. Would be a neat conversion the the Ferrambo.
deja-view Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Those are both great! My mother bought a little light green Rambler American wagon just like it when I was about 7th or 8th grade. I was always a little embarrassed by our "little pig" until I started driving her in high school and realized what those reclining seats could do at the Drive-In. The "pig" was virtually indestructible and that 2nd gear overdrive with the ugly flathead could just wind and wind. I'd love to have one again to make into a mild street rod with a/c and a little power.
