ShawnS Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Hi again. Here is the last model that I finished. AMT's 68 Camaro body with the chassis and most other parts from Revell's '69 Camaros. The hood is from the MPC/AMT 69 convertible It has MCG Photoetch, Keith Marks stripes and other decals from my spares box. The manifold and carbs were from Best Resin. It's the first time that I had detailed an engine to any extent. The carb linkages are made from brass rod and coke can and the fuel lines are made from evergreen, brass rod and old headphone wires. The belts are black electrical tape. I counted parts from 8 different Camaro kits so it's a true kit bash, It took me a couple of months to piece it all together and it's one of my favourites despite the grief it gave me at times. Thanks for looking. ShawnS
John Pol Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Real nice job love the wiring on the motor tobad Best Resin is not in business anymore would love a setup like that for a street rod I'M building. John Pol
James2 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Very fine job, detailed and clean. It's a great looking model.
trogdor Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Very well done. And it's nice to see something other than 69's from 1st gen camaros.
crazyjim Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Great build - super details and SHINY :) paint.
diymirage Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 looks great it may just be the best looking engine i ever saw in a chevy model
Guest Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 That is really sweet, a awesome job in black no less! Kudos! And thanks for using a hosting site other than photobucket, or fotki, my filter blocks those, but imageshack and mynetimages it doesnt.
mannyclub Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Awesome Camaro! Love the engine and interior details. Manny
Scale-Master Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Wow, that came out nice, dig the engine and overall look. One thing though, the shoulder harness's would not be anchored on the package shelf. Since there is no roll bar, you could use the anchor points for the back seat lap belts. (It's what I did one my real one...)
Chillyb1 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 That's very cool. I'm not a fan of Camaros in general, and only this first generation appeals to me. This one in particular is outstanding.
62rebel Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 like your Mustang, this one is art. i love that induction setup... it was included in one of AMT's Camaros but i can't recall which one, and i'd love to have one on hand ... you need a Challenger and a Javelin, now.....
Bartster Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 May be the best looking scale Camaro I've ever seen!
sports850 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Excellent job Shawn and great to see you over here too
