1953 Hudson Handyman

Recommended Posts

This is a what-if phantom, based loosely on prototypes built by Hudson in 1948 and a few homemade versions. All of the chrome trim and ornaments were removed, the remaining plated pieces were stripped and sprayed in Argent paint, and the engine was down-graded to a single carb mill. The bed is from a '41 Chevy.

Basically, my take on what a '53 Hudson production pickup may have looked like done as a base model. :D

Fantastic idea and great build Chuck. It always amazes me how many ways builders will modify a new kit as soon as it comes out. I bought one of these Hudsons and it is "in the To-Do pile". I'm thinking of making mine a Custom.... Down the road along with dozens of others as always.

I agree with Harry, builds like this one deserve as much attention as they can get. Great job, Chuck, and I'm trying to pin down what color that is. Where is it from?

Ah... right! The color is Krylon Hunter Green, straight out of the rattle can. Slick, exotic stuff, that Krylon.
