Haubenschild Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Outstanding work chris! , I cant wait to see another one of these builds!
mikemodeler Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 very nice! Dark colors can be difficult to pull off but you did a great job! great detailing on the engine and the lowered look with the big brakes/wheels is killer.
Erik Smith Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 The paint on that looks very nice. The extra details on the engine are great too. I would try to wash the windshield a bit though, I can see a some finger prints - they stand out on such a smooth, shiny body.
rmvw guy Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Nice!!! The engine detail is excellent!!! I really like your fuel lines. Paint work looks good too! Nice, nice, nice!!!
Chris guthro Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 thats sweeeeeet!! lets see the bottom end of that 350 just kidding love the paint~! Chris
Stephen H Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Man this build is sick. Love the whole look of the car. Great job
tyrone Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 That nova looks bad a-- the whole look is just right.....
diymirage Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 looks great but erm...thats not a 383, thats some silly SBC it would be sweet to see it with a mopar big block in it thought
Jantrix Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 You know you don't see a lot of monochromatic builds these days. From a hot rodding perspective that sorta thing died a decade ago. But you sure proved here that it can still be done with some contemporary styling and be cool as heck. Well done.
brett Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Eelco, Essentially a 0.030-over 350 with a 3.750-inch stroke, the 383's extra cubic inches are almost free when compared to the cost of retaining a stock 3.480-inch stroke. Gone are the days of digging up a 400 crank out of the junkyard and grinding down the mains to fit inside a 350 block. The 3.750-inch stroke small-block Chevy crank, whether cast or forged, is one of the most popular aftermarket cranks ever produced. Furthermore, the relatively short stroke allows fitment of rods up to 6.125 inches while still retaining 1.000-inch of compression height with a standard 9.000-inch deck height. "The rod bolts will hit the cam whenever duration exceeds about 220 degrees at 0.050 lift, but a small base-circle cam eliminates that problem," explains Judson Massingill of the School of Automotive Machinists. "Other than that, when using an aftermarket oil pan, the only other clearancing required is some minor grinding at the bottom of the cylinders when using a factory block." LAone Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 oh man! that is hot. i especialy like the deep offeset corvette wheels.
cherokeered Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Awesome job.....Love It! Wheels are a perfect choice! How did you do the pin stripe so perfectly? Edited February 6, 2012 by cherokeered
Duntov Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Wow... this car has a really different look with the lowered stance and the wheels.... very nice!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
Patrick2005 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 That is truly a wicked Nova man! Sweet build!
diymirage Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 thanks for the info Brett i kinda sorta knew that (come to think of it, i saw a buddy of mine do the grinding of the cylinders once on the 350 he was building for his blazer i was more poking the bear then being serious, seeing how mopar makes a 383 big block, from the factory
Stephen H Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I was thinking about finding a Nova to build but after seeing this I think I would be embarrassed to build one. This car is awesome and the more I look at it the better it gets.
