Well, this is the first I've posted something in a little while------maybe a few days. Got a lot going on in my life at the moment. I had an Aunt pass away the other day, and her services are this Saturday. At the same time my Dad who's 79 years old, is back in the hospital due to complications from blood clots.

He just got out recently for thyroid cancer surgery, and the medications caused the blood clots to form. Also, a girl I know (just a friend at this point ;)), her sister is in the hospital (27 years old) due to persistent seizures which has led to some brain damage.

So if you don't see me responding a whole lot-------I've got a heck of a lot going on with me lately.

And don't get me started with the issues I've had on the job, since we had a BIG layoff recently.................... :(

Bill, sorry to hear of the stress you are dealing with now. Life does keep handing us speedbumps. Hope everyone in your life does better, and we get to hear from you soon.

Also, I am trying to condition myself to use the "View new content" button. I don't know why, but I have always avoided it. I always preferred to go down the list, so to speak. I know that I am missing many cool threads by that old, antiquated view habit. Gonna start using that VIEW NEW STUFF button!

I don't see too much of a difference on the posts  Is it me? Anyway, Bill, I miss you my brother....When are you going to visit us at the club again! Sorry to hear about all the issues. :(

slowly but surely the interest in posting here is disappearing.

some of the best builders in this hobby have left and either found other forums to post on, or just quit the online thing altogether

Too true...

Also, many times I have stopped writing a post, thinking "Why bother? Somebody is bound to get ticked off. Just not worth it". And the post is deleted before it is created.

To be fair, sometimes that is a GOOD thing.

The flip side of the coin? Some of the posts are not even controversial! You just never can tell what will set someone off! One time, someone was looking for Sombrero caps. I mentioned a caster that does them. I got a rude text from a well known machinist accusing me of depriving him of his livelihood!

There are other instances also, but at this time not worth mentioning. None of this is exclusive to this site, it happens all over message boards and blogs. Personally, I think the moderators here do about a good a job as we can expect. I mean, I could never do that job! You can't shoot anyone over the internet!!!

Just from what I have seen it is slow everywhere. Lots of people with a whole lot of real worry right now.

Consider the "Bullying" going on here , it's no wonder David. I won't go into specific detail or names . I see a lot of "Egging onward and Immature antics . I see several people here are so on a secret "Protected list as well" . I'll continue to post something when I think I can FURTHER the hobby in a positive way or I actually have something to show . There's been plenty of posting going...why in the past 24-36 hours

- I've re-learned what the NNL stands for, for the 10,000th time

- Found out what it means when a forum topic is locked

- Watched as people's apologies were questioned in sincerity and purpose

- Saw people's real names and identities investigated by crack forum pot stirrers

- Witnessed a former moderator break 2 of the 4 rules here and not get banned

- Saw a topic with "?" as a title to find out it was disappointingly NOT a missive from the Riddler to Batman but rather how to ship a "life size" bench seat through Craigslist.

- Celebrated Virgil's ability to post more in 90 days than the rest of us combined will in our lifetimes

- Pondered how much I should bill Gregg if I'm going to shill to get MCM onto newsstands, since that seems to be the job of...well Gregg and/or Golden Bell

With this much top notch, high quality, edge of your seat entertainment going on, who has time to build anything, let alone post about it?

I'm just Not as interested in it anymore, and I've seen a lot of new people coming on here selling and wanting to buy and ignoring the rules all together. It's not what it was when I first joined.

So, just a normal week on MCM....

Who really knows why Posts have fallen off. Maybe life is just getting in the way for a lot of us. Or, maybe a lot of us have found other things to do than sit in front of a computer screen all day. I for one have been involved in building a new project ('53 Ford Pickup - Mild Custom) and as soon as I have enough of it done to show, I'll post some WIP pics. I think the moderators do a good job trying to "keep the peace" here, but I do believe that they really shouldn't have to work so hard to try to do that because, as adults, those of us who post stuff on this Forum, should have the common sense to NOT play childish games like name-calling, pot stirring, bullying, egging-on and making sarcastic comments. This Forum is here for the enjoyment and furthering of our Hobby, not for childish antics, one-upsmanship and mind games.

As far as reading the posts here, I always hit the New Content when I come on. I'm really not interested in re-reading or re-viewing stuff I've already seen.

Just my 2 cents worth... Opinions & butt-holes... We've ALL got 'em...

Also, there isn't much need to post some things, like questions that newbies (myself included) have for the older forum members. A lot of times they are told that their questions can be answered with a simple google search, which is very true. Just yesterday I searched how to make a Mexican blanket, and search results provided a link to this very forum with a couple tutorials on the subject.

"Saw people's real names and identities investigated by crack forum pot stirrers"?

I wasn't questioning anyones name, I was pointing out a possible explanation for their TITLE; in this case, "Dr.". Please get the facts straight.

And unlike your post that I quoted in part, I was at least polite about it.
