Dominik Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 All is spoken. I also like the pictures - they make the "car" more realistic. Congrats!
rustybill1960 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) "Nailed it!?!?!" "DUDE YOU KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK MAN!!!!" That is one awesome build!!! If there "is a way to build a rod," "THIS" is "THEE" way to build "IT"!! You certainly fit the "bill" as a plastic craftsman!! Your paint work is "knock my eyes out gorgeous" Man! The detailing You put into this build is "out-standing" to say the least!!! Thank You for sharing with Us here! Later Russ Edited March 16, 2012 by rustybill1960
Mr.Zombie Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Glad you like it. It's been waiting for pics for over 3 years .
modelmike Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Dude after looking at your stuff i think i am going to try to build a ratrod myself great work
Mr.Zombie Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Please do that! The only downdraft to this kind of buildin is that you'll end up with tons of useless stuff. Currently I have a Hudson here, that I got just for the tires and the engine. Will make a really awkward rod.
Kanedge Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Excellent build, very realistic. Like the way you did the patchwork on the body and the number plate on the floor.
The70judgeman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Awesome build! Love the Pontiac motor too...I'm a Pontiac guy myself. Could you post a pic or two of the interior? Mostly want to see the skull shifter better. Looks pretty cool from what I can see.
David G. Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 That's one wicked looking deuce! Excellent work on the roof welds. David G.
Dweb7321 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I love it! Much needed inspiration for my 34 ford truck build.
Olskoolrodder Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 That thing's friggin awesome,sinister...I LIKES it!
High octane Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 While I'm NOT a fan of rust, you did a really great job on that rod.
Terror Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Love the build ,it is cool as all get out.The tilted carb stack bugs me or is that the angle of the pic?very cool car.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Very nice, but that is NOT a cheap kit. Anyone cast those that you know of? OR, a spare that anyone would be willnig to let me cast? Rear Tires are Tamiya FAMO Halftrack... Fit the scale. Nice detail. Unusual tread.
carsntrucks4you Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Adam, that's a cool one. Looks similar to a '30 that I build
Mr.Zombie Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 I saw it in fotki. I want this chopped A body, who makes it? Where to order?
Modelbuilder Mark Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Do you have a Fotki or other gallery page to see more of your work that is the past?
Mr.Zombie Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 As I finish about one model a year (if even), I have around, well... Five or so. And three or four in "progress". I built that one, and 2 '29 Ford Pickups, and modified a 1950 Merc Die Cast, Have the Ghostbusters Cadillac but that's very old, and a Chevy Stepside that was my first model car ever, and Mad Max Interceptor is still around. Then I built a Mercedes 200 Diesel but gave that away. In making are a Mack DM600 for five years now, 49 Mercury (3 years), 1959 Miller Meteor (7 years), and the T/A Gow Job that is in currently in the workshop.
geetee66 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Outstanding skills. Lovely details, too. Excellent choice of tyres. For me, they really make this build seem more realistic. The patched chop, the chipped paint on the suspension...So much to like about this model. Even my wife commented on how good it looks, which is praise indeed!
jerseyjunker1 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 man alive this is one great build everything looks real to life. from the headlights to the tailights it is perfect.
Mr.Zombie Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Thanks folks. Happy that you enjoy it. Excellent choice of tyres. Choice of the rubber is one thing, what is more important, I always sand the lips on the rim paperthin from the inside in the same angle the tyre has. All that so I can stuff the wheel into the rubber as much as it is possible, real tyres are inflated, and there is no real "step" between them and the rim. The Kit rims are always out of two pieces, if you sand 'em, you have to grind down a bit of the inner ring, actually as much as your new rim flushes more in that before sanding. Many people tend to forget that, and kind of destroy their stuff by just putting the wheel together straigt oob.
