I just covered the trim with foil, Trim around it as close as I can, and branish it down using a brush just fill in over the foil, and take your finger and run it over the top of the trim and you have a chrome trim peice.

I tried a variation on the theme: Before aplying the color to the body, and after the primer coat, I did what you did: BMF the trim. When the paint was dry, I polished it untill the chrome shows trough. The result was good enough to recomend the method.
