i think the problem you see is how the back end slopes off into the rear of the car. when i see that slope it instantly makes me think of 70's muscle cars and the chevelle. newer cars don't slope like that. if you look at the 69 camaro and a 2010 camaro the 69 slopes the 2010 stays straight to a definite angle down. also the higher ridge of the fenders sloping down into the trunk modern cars are more flat in that respect.

fantastic build though

I like the side molding, looks like its meant to be there. As for the rear, Im not sure what to add but I think you are headed in the right direction. Maybe on top of what you did, a molding/flushed bumper and a center piece between the tails?

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. Got some more work done to this build today, still trying to work out the back end of this. I did away with the inner tail lights and added a center panel in between the lights, this panel will probably be painted black. If you look at a70 chevelle SS most of them a panel similar to this. I will make the panel lines narrower in the future.

Also worked on the front grille. I cut out the center and added some horizontal pieces and shaped to match the grille. I also added some material to the rearveiw mirrors to get the correct angle of the chevelle sides.

I really like how this is going. That front looks really good.

I'm serious...send Chevrolet's management team some pictures of this once you're done with it. If this doesn't inspire them as to what the future could be, I don't know what, if anything, will.

That rear bumper is much better! Thanks for that! I would go down and buy one of these right now!

can you get someone to cast this ? I would also buy a body from you! I think it would be a hit!

nice work so far although i love the reinvention of classic looks i think to blend in with modern cars a little more they should be a little more bubble shaped. although chevy would probably make some money off of this.

Bam! Thats the look it was missing before. The only change I would suggest is like others have mentioned... the sail panel area. It has the Impala feel too it cause the roof looks so low and long. It's not bad for the car but would love to see a little something different and more aimed at the 70 Chevelle. The rest of the cars body mods are based on that so it would seem fitting.

I swear though... if GM ever makes this car, I WILL BE WRITING THE CHECK!!!

I like the bumper alot better now. my suggestion is to flatten out the inboard side of the taillight so it is parallel to the up down line on your center panel. like the factory ones. then the lights wont be fighting the flow you have going on. I also agree with changing the rear side window to mimic the 70 chevelle shape. keep it up!

OK made a little progress on this build today. I made some hood hinges out of brass tubing and rod. I also added some bracing on this inside of the hood.

I also decided to put some newer door handles on this. I had a mini cooper parts car and I thought that the handles off it would look good so out came the cutters and I began some surgery on the doors.

Leave the door handles chrome. They do that on retro cars... PT Cruiser has 'em. I did the same on a Concept Camaro kit that I did a retro bit on, added chrome in several spots.
